I really like this eyeliner. All urban decay 24/7 pencils glide on smoothly without tugging your eye. The pencil is a pretty taupe gray color. It leans a bit more on the cool side of colors. I like the taupe color but i am looking for something a bit more warm toned. I also have the pencil in undergroud which i really like but I belive the color stray dog is my favorite. It needs added to the permanaent rotaion. Mushroom is a great gray color though for those looking for somthing other than charcoal. It is nice on blue eyes.

UD's website describes this as "metallic taupe-pewter shimmer". It's very metallic and very shimmery, what this means is that it can look like a silver sheen from certain angles of lighting. However the shade itself is a beautiful cool-toned taupe with lots of grey next to some brown. The shimmer is so fine that you can't distinguish the individual particles, it looks uniformly distributed so that the end result is a metallic finish.
Setting time is about 15 seconds, meaning right after application, you have time to clean off the edges with a Q-tip, but once it sets, this will prove challenging so stay focused while using this, it means business! No smudging or fading all day, in fact it takes about half a minute of rubbing with oil-based makeup remover for me to get this off.
Due to the softness of the pencil, the tip dulls quicky and requires frequent sharpening, meaning more wasted product but it's a small con for a beautiful shade and crazy long-wear.
Below are swatches compared to other neutral 24/7 liners, under 2 different angles of lighting.
This caught my eye mostly because I hadn't tried it before...It is a gorgeous taupe with some metallic shimmer. It reminds me of "Underground" in intensity and being subtle. This is one that isn't as "attractive" as some of the other, fancier colors, but it's a flattering shade that's great for "everyday" when you're not trying to show off a great EOTD, you just want to look refreshed and pulled together. Being older, it's nice to find something that's really pretty, but doesn't scream "this is too young for you!"
The price was in line with the usual cost of UD liners. The performance is what I expect from UD: no irritation, no raccoon eyes. It does fade on the waterline as the day goes on.
This seems like "Ether"s older sister. I'd stock up on this if I thought it was being discontinued.
I <3 24/7!!! This color or Crash are perfect for doing a cut crease or simply lining and smudging. They all blend out really well and the staying power is terrific! Highly recommend! Plus, some were on sale when I bought mine so I got an awesome deal on them! Go UD!!!!
I own a lot of UD's 24/7 eyeliners, and Mushroom is one of the few shades that I keep reaching for. It's a satiny cool-toned taupe with slight shimmer. It's one of the best neutral shades that UD has: not flat, not harsh, not overloaded with glitter. I use this for creating a natural eye and whenever I want a subtler look than brown or black. Once the eyeliner sets (after applying, you have about a minute to play with it), it's almost bulletproof. However, I've never worn it on the waterline so I can't attest to how long it stays there.
Only complaint about this eyeliner--about all of UD's pencils, actually--is that the formula is so soft and creamy, you can not get a sharp point even with Grindhouse...because of that, it's difficult to draw a fine line. I find that popping the pencils in the freezer for a bit to harden does help, but come on--who has time to do that every day?
My score for this liner is actually wobbling between a 4 and 5, but given how frequently I grab this pencil, I've bumped it to 5.
If they made this shade in the liquid eyeliner, I'd really be happy!
I don't dislike this eye liner but the price is pretty steep for what you get. I have the Mushroom eyeshadow and while I like it, I find it's hard to achieve a subtle grey look with it, so I bought the pencil thinking that I could just kind of do a quick smoky eye for day with it. It's a nice colour, a very cool taupish grey, and it's quite shiny on my lids, and almost looks wet. As with all UD eyeliners it's very soft and you have to sharpen a lot to get a fine point, and even then you aren't really going to get a precise line with these guys. But it's quite good for what I bought it for, which is to do a quick smudgy grey eye.
