This product really lives up to its claims. It is amazing really. I am new to the LORAC brand and everything I've tried has really 'Wow'd' me so far. I am fair, NC15/NC20 and I got the PF3 Fair/Medium which is a touch too tan. I am going to take it back and exchange for the PF2.
I apply this with a large fluffy brush as the next to last step in my routine. I use it to set my foundation and blend everything out. It gives me a matte, angelically even finish with fantastic light coverage. It really keeps my foundation looking flawless all day...but I do use Revlon ColorStay whipped creme foundation which is pretty flawless on its own! ;) Sometimes I just use this over my moisturizer, for quick makeup days. Same great results, just less coverage.
My very last step in my full routine is to dust Guerlain Meteorites on because I like a more luminous finish than what Porection gives. Porefection really does minimize pores and gives light coverage which the Guerlain just won't do, which is why I use the two together. I feel so beautiful by the time I am finished!
5 stars all around and I'd buy again. It's a great product with great packaging, but expensive. I don't buy just any product and this tuff exceeded my expectations. Flawless finish, and I use it lightly over bb cream ever day. Totally worth the price.
Now here is a product I am absolutely crazy about right now, and I cannot leave home without it! A friend of mine uses product and her skin always looks so nice and airbrushed after applying a fresh coat. So I went out at bought mine at Ulta in PF4. And Ii love it!
So, let's start off with the outside of the powder. Upon purchasing, it will come in a minimalistic black box with the logo and the other basic texts. When you take it out of the packaging, the container of the powder itself comes in a simple, sleek cylinder shape with a gunmetal gray, glossy finish. The inside comes with a good sized mirror on the upper lid. The width is (what I'm estimating) 1 1/2 inches, and 1/2 in thickness. The dimensions are no problem for a medium to large size bag, but for those who mainly use much smaller purses, it could take up a bit of space.
Now, for the powder itself! From what I saw on the testers, it comes in a variety of five shades, from ivory to a tan color. The powder is pressed but it's very soft and smooth, the texture is very much like powdered sugar. The coverage is very nice, and you can actually see the power set into the skin, and blends in. It's no so heavy, but it does a good job in evening out the color and making pores significantly less visible - phew! The last powder I used actually made them more visible. tsk, tsk, tsk! Anyway, the powder leaves your face with a smooth, mostly matte finish that stays on for quite a while before another touch up - which depends on your skin type and if you happen to be sweating quite a bit. But it holds up pretty well, I think. In a cooler, calmer setting you might not even need to re apply at all!
The only problem I have with the product so far is the lack of compartment where I can store an applicator inside. While the packaging seems like it could hold one inside, a newly bought powder will have a dome shape and doesn't provide much space for an applicator to sit inside. The price for the product is a bit of a bite in my wallet (but that's just my opinion), priced at $32 USD. But considering the good quality, I would say it's worth spending the extra money, and I would again once I run out of the product. If the price isn't daunting, I would recommend the POREfection powder!
Love it! <3
I kinda love this product ALOT! The worst part about this powder is the fall out, it's really terrible. But this powder really does hide your pores, and I find that it gives me a matte look even though its supposed to be more luminous, I wish there was more color options, but right now it's my go to powder! A little pricey though!
After so many brands of powder and so many break outs after, I finally found this one that does not break me out at all. It looks good with foundation and without foundation. It looks smooth. I would definitely buy it again.
I typical use Clinique Almost foundation in fair but wanted to try this in the lightest color. It applies smoothly to the skin and does not cause my skin to breakout. It is long lastingand does not creep into my pores and fine lines like Hourglass foundatin does. I use Smashbox More than Primer in Blemish Control, then Lorac Porefection in Fair and top it off with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess in light and am very pleased with the natural look of this combination.
I'm so in love with this powder! And the whole lorac line is great acyually. It really does make my skin look great without looking cackey. This is not a full coverage powder so if you have a lot of breaakouts/imperfections to hide, this alone wont do the trick. I use it just over a concealer and get Really natural looking results. I'd immagine this would also work beautifully over a foundation or even a TM/bb cream. I can't say that this gives me an "air-brushed" finish, but with my large pores no makeup has been able to do that to my texture. HOWEVER no product has ever come close to smoothing my skin texture Like this powder and not clog up my pores. Hasn't caused any breakouts on my oily clog prone skin which a lot of powders(even mineral) do. I consider myself a med-light skin tone with yellowish undertones and I could go with either pf3 or pf4... pf4 being slightly darker and pinker, but not to where its a huge problem. Ill probably go with the pf3 in the winter months. I apply it with too faced powder pouf brush and get the best results in comparison to cheaper brushes and I feel like the least amount of product gets wasted. At 32$ a pop I'm going to do whatever I can to make mine last! I feel like this product is actually helping my skin instead of just cover it up and suffocate it like most other makeup seems to do for me (I've tried Mac, clinique, b.e., shiseido, too faced, pur, smashbox, tarte, benefit, and most of the drugstore brands)
I don't know why there aren't more people reviewing this. This powder is AMAZING. I have large pores and combo-oily skin. This powder makes my pores disappear, keeps my skin matte, and is long lasting. I've tried many products that claim to minimize pores, and this is the only thing--whether a lotion, a creme, a foundation, a powder, whatever--that has actually minimized my pores. I love this stuff. My only complaint is that the powder is a little messy during application, so you just have to be careful to not go too crazy with your brush. But other than that, I have no complaints. There is no need to even carry this in your purse...you won't have to touch up during the course of an average 8 hour day. After 8 hours I need a powder touch up, and I'm good to go for several more hours. Great stuff!
I love this powder so much! I use it over a tinted moisturizer and it leaves a nice even texture and light/medium is perfect. I have a similar issue with a bit of oiliness after a few hours like the other reviewer mentioned, but most everything on my t-zone gets oily after a few hours. Blotting paper and a little touch up does the trick! I just discovered this powder at Sephora recently and have used nothing else since! Love love love it.
I bought this a few days ago and have wore it everyday since. I like the texture of this powder and the ease of application: it just looks so smooth when i first put it on... but after about 3 hrs of my overload of oil production on my face, it just looks like crap. My makeup looks cakey and seperates in several lines around my nose, chin, and between my eyes. It does smooth out your pores so that's why I gave it a 3, but the description does say on the Lorac website that this is supposed to be for all skintypes, including oily, and it didn't even last 3 hrs on my face. Also handle this compact with care bc I accidentally dropped my makeup bag out of my hand onto my bathroom counter, maybe a 4 inch drop, while it was closed and the whole top part of the powder broke off. So it's not very durable!
