HOLY GRAIL ALERT
I have been using this product weekly for a month and I fall in love every time I use it. It has tiny micro-bead particles that gently slough off dead skin. Compared to other exfoliators with micro-beads this product has smaller particles, which is much more effective than other products with larger grains.
PACKAGING: It has two types of packaging, the old one with the off-white color and the new one with black and white packaging. They are the same product with different appearances. Hope this helps.
- Helped fade shallow acne scars, and I mean actual scarring not blemishes (you do need to use it a couple of times to see results, a month or two)
- Fade Dark spots
- Lessens blackheads and clogged pores
- Skin is softer
- You only need a little bit for the entire face, so the product last a long time
- Pay attention to the directions because if you use a heavy hand while scrubbing you will irritate your skin. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Other than that there are no real cons I could think of.
Hope this review helps someone out there who is struggling with skin problems. Remember all products are YMMV, so what may work for a certain individual might not work for another. Patch test first with new products to see if it gives you a bad reaction.
I have FINALLY found a replacement for my discontinued HG Mac Microfine Refinisher. My skin loves this type of exfoliant - ultra fine particles, no lather. I have sensitive clog prone skin and most other scrubs scratch the hell out of my skin or do nothing at all (like those stupid artifical bead things). If anything, this product is better than MACs, which left residue behind and required a second cleansing. I am so happy!
I have been using this stuff for about 4 years now and absolutely love it. If ever I stop using it for any reason I really notice a difference in my skin! It's also very reasonably priced and I stock up on it when it's on 3 for 2 or when the £5 off No.7 vouchers are running.
Love this product. My face feels so much smoother and fresh. You notice results right away. Make sure you follow the instructions. My face was a bit red after but that was to be expected. When your done, you feel like you were just at a spa! Also I love the price. Most products like this are $50 or more. I'm very impressed with this product.
This is my favorite exfoliator ever! nothing else compares. I love to use it twice a week at night time. It really works to improve the texture of skin
I LOVE this scrub. I used to use either my Clarisonic Plus or Kiehl's Epidermal Re-texturizing Micro-dermabrasion, but for some reason I felt my Clarisonic was making be break out (even after regular disinfecting with hydrogen peroxide) and at $40+ a tube for my Kiehl's scrub, I was on a search for an alternative....and this scrub was it! You just need to make sure you are using the scrub correctly...on a clean, wet face using light circular motions. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin so finding an effective yet gentle enough scrub has been so difficult. I don't care for the other scrubs with soft micro-beads as I feel they were not as effective, and scrubs with ground walnut shells would irritate and inflame my acne....so this scrub is PERFECT!!! I am also allergic to synthetic fragrances in my cosmetic products and since this product does not have any synthetic fragrance, it does not irritate my skin. I follow-up with either my Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel or an SLS-free cleanser and something soothing and non-pore clogging like my Medicine Mama's Sweet Bee Magic cream....trying to use more natural products. I swear, using this scrub in my regimine has kept my acne at bay!!! I will definitely re-purchase again and again....and saves me so much $$$$ :)
I'm not a fan of this, personally I don't think it's abrasive enough to give you an efficient enough exfoliation to even be considered microdermabrasion.Yes, the grains are very, very fine..almost too fine and there's not enough of them in there. It's mostly just a thin white runny cream with few super fine scrubby bits. It's very gentle, so those with sensitive skin that doesn't need too much exfoliation might enjoy this, but my skin though somewhat sensitive, needs something more substantial than this. One of the things I did like is that there's no added fragrance in this, so again, great for sensitive skin. This didn't dry out or irritate my skin and it rinses off completely clean but that's about it. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Olay Regenerist Microderm which I love, but this just didn't quite do it for me. I think I can actually get a better exfoliation from my normal scrub then I can this. Maybe my skin is just more problematic and finickier than most people's skin but if you are looking for a good microdermabrasion scrub, try the Olay one, it's definitely more abrasive and a little pricier but it will give you the softest skin ever. This did pretty much nothing for me.
-squeeze tube packaging
-cheaper than most other microdermabrasion exfoliators
-rinses off clean with no residue
-good for sensitive skin
-not efficient enough exfoliation
As a former manager of an aesthetics clinic I'm super-picky about what I use on my skin which is Retin-A delicate and sensitive. After I ran out of my Obagi ZO scrub that costs $100 a jar, I got fed up and looked for an alternative. I bought this product at Target (I like the Boots No. 7 brand) for ten dollars and was willing to give it a try. Here's what I like: gentle, sugar-like grains (not those annoying synthetic beads), very little if any fragrance, not overly aggressive, and washes away cleanly giving me a radiant scrubbed face that's not bright red. A great inexpensive alternative to the high end scrubs.
Finally a product that does what it says!! My face has never looked refreshed and smooth. It's very easy to use, just ensure you read the specific instructions. I use it 1-2x weekly and a little goes along way. You can get it for under $15.00 when you use one of Ulta's coupons. Here's to a clean, fresh, smooth look.... enjoy!!
I used to use this and it really smoothed my acne-scarred skin. However, like most women, I am always looking for something else, different, more effective. I have jumped on the "acid exfoliation" train and haven't gotten off for some time. Acids are more effective without having to use grains or granules and can be used daily(depending on strength). I might use this scrub again in the future, but only very occasionally as a boost and not too vigorously. The danger with scrubs is the urge to buff your gentle facial skin off.
