Maybelline New York

The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Powder -Maybelline New York -Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder

Believe the good reviews. I've repurchased this around 6 or 7 times and I'll continue to do so until they discontinue it. I have oily acne prone skin and this keeps me matte all day, smooths my texture and pores, and doesn't break me out.

Primer/ Corrector -Maybelline New York -Face Studio Master Prime Blur + Smooth

Was excited to try this from the great reviews on amazon. This stuff is literally just moisturizer, I would not even call it a primer. It does NOT fill in my pores or any lines. That's right I paid $7.00 for one ounce of moisturizer. It absorbs into my skin and makes it feel hydrated so that my foundation goes on evenly, but like I mentioned before that's what moisturizer does! So 1 ounce of this stuff is completely useless when I can take a tiny bit of moisturizer on my face that I already before putting on foundation to prep my skin. Why is everyone ravings blurs? It did not make a difference with the wear of my foundation either.

Contour -Maybelline New York -Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick in Light

First off, I really liked the texture of these. It was easy to apply and blend it well with a damp beauty blender.

My complaint is the component itself. I wish it was double ended with the contour on one end and the highlight on the other end. They way this is designed its hard to get a precise application as they tend to blend into one another and you get contour where you want highlight and highlight where you want contour.

I hope they redo this packaging design and do it as a double ended product instead.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline New York -Baby Lips Lip Balm

I found these pretty hydrating. I love that they packaging is like a lip stick and turns up that way. The colored ones leave a subtle colored sheen on the lips. More like a stain than a lipstick.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline New York -SuperStay Better Skin Skin-Transforming Powder

I'm surprised by this powder. I use it as a foundation but can see it would work well over liquid foundation as well because it is so light on the skin. I have dry skin and can still use this alone. After a few minutes and a spritz of rosewater it melts into my skin beautifully. I'd say it is light, maybe even light-medium coverage, the shade selection isn't exciting, but it is not cakey or drying. I use this mainly when I am on call at work for late nights that turn into mornings and I'd prefer to look alive.
