The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Eye Shadow -Maybelline -The City Mini Palette

on 11/18/2017 2:33:00 PM

These are great little palettes. So easy to throw in a purse. Sturdy plastic case. I have bought only three so far. Graffiti Pop, Chill Brunch and Downtown Sunrise. Chill Brunch is my favorite of the three. Taupe shades with a touch of pink and a purple shade I can use as liner! I already ditched Maybelline's Nudes palettes in favor of them. These have more pigment. Each palette have at least one shade of glitter, and easy to avoid if you don't like glitter. They stay on my lids pretty well with primer, but fades fast without. Downtown Sunrise is my second favorite with that orange shade. I don't usually do orange/red shades, but this one is like a clear orange if that makes sense. Not too warm or reddish. And that right upper corner shade is beautiful. A rose gold? Not sure but it is gorgeous! Graffiti Pop has that teal and dark purple colors that I love, too, cause I needed some color in my collection.

Lipstick -Maybelline -Colorsensational lipstick in petal pink

on 11/18/2017 11:32:00 AM

I thought that this lipstick had a slightly greasy consistency...but I have dry lips so I didn’t mind that it was more on the moisturising side... this petal pink shade was too pale for me, and I did add some liquid lip tint over the top to add a bit more dimension to the lips.

I was comparing this in my head to the collection 2000 lipsticks, which always deliver great colour and wearability, and the formula felt similar to the collection 2000 lipsticks.

It was just a bit too pale for me!

Concealers -Maybelline -Cover Stick

on 11/18/2017 10:41:00 AM

This stick concealer has opaque coverage, and blends easily. I use this mostly if I get a blemish, and this works great for that purpose. I sometimes use under my eyes, and it works well there too, but I apply lightly so it does not enhance fine lines. Stick concealers are so quick and easy to use, and last longer than liquid concealers, which is why I prefer them. The shade "Fair" has a cooler undertone and blends perfectly with my fair neutral/cool skintone. This gets the job done, and is inexpensive, so I'd repurchase!

Foundations -Maybelline -Dream Matte Mousse

on 11/18/2017 9:45:00 AM

This is an amazing foundation the finish is a soft matt it gives excellent coverage I was SHOCK the first time I tried this foundation. essences also have a similar type of foundation that gives the same effect as the maybelline dream matt mouse they both gives a good eight (8) hours of wear before my oils seeps through on my oily skin I have a lot of foundations in my makeup collection and this is one of my "go to" foundation . If maybelline never come out with another foundation and leave this one on the shelves and upgrade the line with more shades NOT the FORMULA ..formula is excellent and one more good thing about this it does not oxidise I have re purchased many times and will continue to .this foundation is truly one of the hidden gems in the drug store.

Concealers -Maybelline -Master Conceal Camouflaging

on 11/18/2017 7:16:00 AM

This is a great concealer for the price. I picked up Medium and Medium/deep which both work really well for my skin tone (one for brightening, one for correcting). The formula is very smooth and easy to blend and dries down to a satin finish on me. The coverage is medium buildable, it does a good job of covering my dark circles and making me look more awake but I find my dark lines do still peak through so I would need a corrector if I wanted to look flawless. I have to set this with a powder otherwise I find it creases really quickly and settles into fine lines, but honestly haven't come across a concealer that hasn't. I've had this concealer for 5 months and I still have so much product left since you only need a small amount.
