Foundations -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation

on 3/21/2019 1:23:00 PM

A lot of the negative reviews for this foundation are by first-time reviewers (make of that what you will, but I really wish MUA would do something about these trolls). This is, by far, the best drugstore foundation I've ever used! I also own higher ends foundations (KVD Lock-IT, Dermacol, and Estee's Double Wear), but since trying this one I haven't touched any of them. This one has a matte-satin finish (looks like real skin) and the color selection is amazing, FINALLY a drugstore foundation pale enough for me that doesn't oxidize! The formula doesn't emphasize pores, it smooths right over them. It glides on effortlessly and requires very little blending. It miraculously blurs and melts into skin without that heavy silicone feel (I can't stand the silicone-y texture that's in every make-up product these days). Finally, it doesn't turn me into a greaseball or turn patchy within hours. It's on the higher end of medium coverage, but it can be layered easily for fuller coverage without looking cakey.

Lipstick -L'Oreal Paris -Colour Riche Gold Addiction

on 3/21/2019 1:16:00 PM

This is a LE product from L'Oreal, in the Colour Riche range. It comes in 12 very pretty shades, is made with omega 3 oils, vitamin E and gold micro shimmer, and claims to hydrate lips and impart an intense colour pigment.

I got the shade 958 Pink Gold, and I wish I had gotten a few other shades but not knowing anything about the product, I didn't want to risk it.

The colour is indeed pigmented, and glides easily. One swipe is enough, but you can build it up if needed. This particular shade is very happy and awesome for spring/summer, it just brightens up my face. The gold shimmer is fine enough that it doesn't look like glitter, it just makes your pout look "wet", as if you just applied a gloss (but it's not as glossy as a gloss).
I don't detect the usual L'Oreal scent, in fact there is no scent at all in this product.

It is decently hydrating too, and it lasts for about a couple of hours. When it fades, the micro shimmer is still there, and it actually doesn't look bad!

The only "con" I can think of is that personally I can feel the shimmer on my lips, it is a bit gritty when I rub my lips together.

Overall, I think this is one of the best products in the Colour Riche range.

Hair Color -L'Oreal Paris -Superior Preference - 8A Ash Blonde

Summary: tones great, but not much lightening

2 months ago I dyed several strands of my light brown hair a pale golden blonde in an attempt to highlight. I should have known from the box that it was too brassy for me and clashed with my cool undertones.

Recently I chose L'oreal Superior Preference Ash Blonde 8A to lighten the virgin light brown/dark blonde hair while simultaneously toning my brassy strands. This dye did an amazing job at removing the brass - it turned my botched highlights into a stunning caramel blonde hue thanks to 8A. However, some of my naturally blonde strands darkened to a light brown, and my light brown virgin strands were barely lifted (I know box dyes aren't supposed to lift light brown hair as much as the box says but this was NO lift compared to other blonde dyes I've used).... So some of my naturally blonde strands came out even darker which disappointed me. I'd imagine there's not that much bleach/peroxide since I had any lift - however I must say I did like how gentle it is as my hair did not feel dry the next day which happens with many blonde box dyes that I've used. So this is great for someone looking to tone without wanting to do any more damage on their hair.

This shade is an excellent option for someone with a dark orange or even red undertone they're looking to tone into a cool color - think botched bleach job that's too dark for a light toner. However, if you're looking for blonde strands or to lift your color, try one of L'oreal's lighter shades

Conditioner -L'Oreal Paris -ELVIVE Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Conditioner

ok i may have a crush on this conditioner. it made my dry and lifeless hair feel and look so healthy. i usually hate touching my hair because of how rough and dry it is but after just one use of this conditioner i cant stop touching my hair because its so smooth and soft. it has a really strong but amazing scent to it. my mom was literally standing next to me and sniffing me because my hair smelled that good. it is definitely one of the more expensive hair products but this is one of the few that i feel is actually worth the price because of how happy i am with it after just one use. highly recommend using this with the shampoo because you will get amazing results with using both.

Shampoo -L'Oreal Paris -ELVIVE Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo

on 3/20/2019 4:13:00 PM

this has got to be one of my favourite shampoos ever. it smells amazing, i love it when shampoos have a really strong and nice scent which this one does just hate it when the scent is barely there. it really made my hair feel amazing after i used both the shampoo and conditioner. i have dry and thin hair so shampoos and conditioners either make it worse or dont do anything but this actually gave my hair a lot of moisture and made my hair feel, look and smell clean just after one use. it is fairly expensive but i managed to find it on sale for $3.99, personally do think it is worth the actual price because it is a really good quality shampoo. highly recommend this shampoo for people with dry and thin hair like me.
