Stick -Hourglass Cosmetics -Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

I was out shopping one day and feeling rather insecure about my skin inperfections. I picked up this foundation because its supposed to be full coverage, and seemless. After taking it home and trying it a few times, I don't quite agree with the hype. If you have combination skin, oily skin, or dry skin, then this foundation isn't for you. I think only people with already flawless skin would suit this founation.. First of all, the day I had a few dried blemishes, the foundation stuck to them like glue and made them even more prominent! It's all well and good having a thick full coverage foundation, but it needs to do its job & hide your blemishes not highlight them. Secondly, I find putting powder over this one tricky, maybe I'm doing something wrong?! Thirdly, the foundation being a solid stick means that it's probably also got more silicones than a liquid foundation. Lastly, after a day of wearing the foundation, my skin is usually quite greasy.. Sorry Hour Glass, this one isn't for me.

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass Cosmetics -Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15

I have acne prone skin, my skin used to be oily but now has shifted towards combo-dry. This was my first choice for a new face primer as I need more hydration. What's good a bout it that is doesn't dry out my skin and makes my concealer / foundation apply nicely, unfortunately after a week of using, I started breaking out only on areas where I put my primer on. I stopped using after I realize 3 more acnes pops up after I go back home that night.

Pressed Powders -Hourglass Cosmetics -Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

I'm NC20, combo/oily. I'm 30, so my skin isn't the acne and greasy mess it used to be, though I never had that youthful "glow" to begin with because my skin was garbage.
I feel like this powder gives me what I never had.
After my makeup is done and set, I'll take a big fluffy brush ( Ecotools large powder brush works amazing with this) and coat the brush in the pan. I'll press the brush onto my skin, avoiding the pores near my cheeks though. Then dust off the excess. I find this powder adds a subtle life to the face that'll make people go " Hmm not sure what it is, but you look healthy".
There are other similar and cheaper powders that work quite well like Fyrinnae's Hollywood Sorcery.
This is also great to use when you feel like you're looking a little flat, like how I feel sometimes if I'm using a long-wearing high coverage Matt foundation.
I like this a lot and plan on repurchasing when it's done.

Mascara -Hourglass Cosmetics -Caution Extreme Lash Mascara

Initially, I liked this mascara, thinking that the problems I had with clumping were user error and the result of a too-new mascara. I began wiping the brush with a tissue to remove excess product, but that only helps a bit. What I can say about it is that it doesn't flake or come off during the day. Moreover, I find it removes quite easily with a cotton pad soaked in Bioderma, so that's something. I hate buying separate, expensive mascara removers. Bummer. I was really excited about this.

Loose Powders -Hourglass Cosmetics -Veil Translucent Setting Powder

I can’t live without a good loose powder for making sure makeup doesn’t shift during long working days and I really had high hopes for this one; I like most Hourglass products and used the Veil foundation for quite a long time (see review there) before being brought back into the Nars fold. BUT. This really wasn’t worth my hard-earned money. The packaging is lovely but it just doesn’t dispense the right amount of powder you need to make it work. Then you end up giving it a shake and before you know where you are, your face is caked in the stuff. Plus, it doesn’t really ‘hold’ anything. So I’m left with an expensive white elephant here! I’ve gone back to Old Faithful - Kiko Milano Invisible Powder. It rocks and at a fraction of the price, guys....
