Skincare - Face -Deciem -Hylamide - Pore Delete

on 3/21/2019 8:49:00 PM

I am writing a review for Hylamide Pore Control. I can't seem to find any reviews or pages on Hylamide Pore Control on MUA so I'm just going to write it on here.

I've been using this product for a month now and unfortunately I don't think its performing what it claims on me.

I only use this at night because I don't think my face will survive if I use it during the day. I would wash my face, apply my toner first, dropped 1-2 drops of Hylamide Pore Control and then lather a good amount of moisturiser. My t-zone is super oily while my cheeks are sensitive, so I only apply the product on my T-zone and the cheek areas near my nose. For the first few minutes after application, I can feel a bit of a tingle and skin tightening. No biggie and I fall asleep. Once I wake up, I be drowning in oil especially in my t-zone areas where I apply. At first I thought I achieved the glass skin effect and then when I touch it, its drips of oil. In terms of pore size, my cheek pores shrunk abit but that happens every time I wake up. Throughout the day, my pores open up from the heat and light. For people who wants to minimize their blackheads, yea this isn't going to work. My nose pores/blackheads are just as big as usual. I'm not sure how the serum works but it feels like its trying to suck all my oils and my skin compensates that by excreting more oil.

Overall I will keep using it until it runs out. I'm praying there be some miracle but I'm also skeptical at the dependency of these products. Because of the bizarre oil flood happening the morning after, I stopped using it for a day or two. As expected my pores will come back just as big as usual... Like I get it, you have to use it consistently for results but why isn't there a product that permanently eradicates your skin problems.

Treatments (Face) -Deciem -The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

on 3/21/2019 5:53:00 PM

I’ve bought many of these, have used almost a year nightly and I’m not stingy. Hairline to décolletage and hands. It is the first thing that touches my skin after the 30 minute waiting period for .1% Retin A to sink in (aging purposes I’m 40). I swear, in addition to preemptively striking my visage with mad moisture bombing, THIS eliminated Tretinoin side effects. I had no redness. No peeling. And I didn’t pu$$y foot around my retinoid usage (sorry). I did a half tube of RoC otc and got right into nightly use of tret that my derm wrote for me.

Aside from that, the redness that had strangers asking me (YEAR ROUND) if my chest was sunburned (it wasn’t) is GONE. My daughter has asked if I had foundation on my chest haha. I’m doing lots for aging and general skin health all at once, so in terms of pore size and fine lines and moisture barrier, I’m sure it is helping. I’m not taking a star away for this, but every morn I wake up smelling like burnt rubber. It’s gross. I wash off and would never use daytime. I forgive that minor sin for what it has done for my skin at a price of - what - 5 bucks?! I tried Holy Snails shark sauce (not as high % niacinamide but many other goodies in there, and I love the concept of the company), just to alleviate the smell, but it’s sooo much pricier, plus my niacinamide-specific results started to dwindle... back to The Ordinary. I just buy a bunch to get the free shipping. In fact now that Sephora has it, I get free flash shipping on anything, samples, accrue points... hey just thought of that! I know many use this for acne, but for me the tret side effect elimination and redness reduction were just no brainers. They keep selling and I’ll keep buying! Oh - also, my skin went from oily/combo to kinda dry at first with tret and now, for the first time ever, it’s NORMAL!!

Skincare - Face -Deciem -The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA

on 3/21/2019 3:59:00 PM

This is one of the best value and best products overall in the Ordinary range. What was - and is- so revolutionary with the Ordinary is that they brought high quality ingredients, developed and tested by specialist laboratories, previously available to manufacturers only, directly to the consumer at a fraction of the price. Matrixyl is one of them. Its a peptide product that has been proven to reduce lines and wrinkles and here mixed with hyaluronic acid it is moisturising and smoothing. Superb value for money and one I hope does not vanish from the market at this price point. I really like the fact that simple ingredients are available like this so that I am able to custom blend my own skin care routine as I choose. Excellent product. I am on my second bottle.

Toners -Deciem -The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

I really wanted to love this product but it just totally didn't work for me, I found that my scars too longer to fade away and I didn't find any changes to my skin after using this product which means that it's exfoliating properties weren't working after two weeks. So disappointing as I usually love TO's products and I love advocating for such an amazing company mission (cheap prices, customizability and quality)!

Treatments (Face) -Deciem -The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Borage Seed Oil

on 3/20/2019 12:12:00 PM

This product saved my skin! I live in Canada and the winter months can be severely dry and freezing cold. This causes my skin to fall apart. My face becomes dry and flaky with psoriasis and my hands crack and bleed from wearing gloves and repetitively washing them. (Cold and flu season). I used The Ordinary rose hip oil in the summer but thought id give the Borage seed a try in winter because of the reviews saying it’s good for eczema etc. it worked like a charm! Put 2 drops on my face and rubbed the excess on my knuckles and no skin issues at all! I highly recommend it if you suffer with extreme dry skin or irritated skin.
