Cleansers -Darphin -Intral Cleansing Milk

on 11/11/2017 10:40:00 AM

Love the smell of this. It has a very pleasant floral scent that feels really lush on your skin. It's very creamy and leaves your skin feeling really soft and hydrated after you wash your face. I just ordered the full sized bottle from sephora after going through the sample. Really great cleanser for winter.

Cleansers -Darphin -Aromatic Cleansing Balm with Rosewood

on 11/6/2017 11:06:00 AM

If you want to try a luxurious, wonderfully scented and remarkably effective cleanser, you would be hard-pressed to go awry with this one from Darphin. It is hideously expensive - $45 for a 40 ml pot. However, I have enjoyed using it so much, I have no doubt that I'll be buying more.
The balm is a kind of waxy cream texture. It smells like nothing else I've sniffed - an herbal, woodsy blend of marula oil, sage, ylang, and rosewood. The ingredients are nothing too magical; mostly, they are a blend of glycerin and oils that solidify at room temperature. I find that they combine to great effect, though. To use this, I scoop out a nickel-sized dab and rub between wet palms. You'll find it starts to emulsify immediately. I then massage all over my face. I use this as a second cleanser. It works as a first cleanser/make-up remover, but I have to use an amount that makes me shudder. As a second cleanser, it is lovely at picking up any stray oil cleanser that remains on my skin and making it feel perfectly clean and toned. No tightness, no irritation, no residue.

Moisturizers -Darphin -Hydraskin Light

on 10/19/2017 11:10:00 PM

I received a sample of this, and had zero expectations - having mature, very dry skin, I tend to have very poor outcomes with products labelled "gel" and "light". To my great surprise, this product really moisturizes for hours without being greasy. I was surprised to see other reviewers say this is not appropriate for mature skin. Usually, I have to use a deep-moisturizing night cream even in the daytime. But this has been wonderful - my go-to summer moisturizer since first trying it.
It's a little pricey, but a little goes a long way.

Cleansers -Darphin -Cleansing Foam Gel with Water Lily

Groan. First World Moan alert.

I got 125ml of this as a gift with purchase and I am wondering what to do with it. Will I use it to wash my make up brushes or woollen clothes? It seems gentle as it doesn't move much dirt off my face. I even tried to use it in the shower as a body cleanser and well, it just slid off my skin and slithered down the drain. In desperation I used it as a hand wash but again, my hands did not seem to get clean and I was chasing the gel goo around my 2 hands.

OK, foam gel- what does that even mean? This cleanser is a thick liquid goo that does not foam up that well. It is a very frustrating product- it doesnt leave your face feeling clean, nor overly clean- stripped, and so you wonder what you just spent your precious morning minute doing.

The marketing is good- the opaque goo along with the 'Water lily' is indeed a serene tube of product to look at. Just don't use it.

Treatments (Face) -Darphin -Predermine Serum

If you want fast results against sagging skin or wrinkles, reach for a peptide serum. It won't give you lasting firmness if you stop using it, of course, but for day to day perking-upping, you can't beat peptides. Of course, it's nice if said serum also has more longlasting anti-agers like antioxidants or retinol. This serum from Darphin has a whole slew of botanical extracts that I don't think do much, but its key ingredient is a healthy peptide cocktail. I use it daily underneath my moisturizer and it does the job, giving me a nice, smooth skin surface.
Here is the thing, though: I wouldn't buy it again. For one thing, the retail price is ridiculous: $176 for a tiny 1 oz bottle. For another, I want more from my serum. I want some fresh, juicy antioxidants to work their magic against the sun and reverse damage. This doesn't impress on that front. My last complaint is minor but enough of a turnoff to some people that I should mention it: this serum is perfumed. I'm not a fan of scented skincare and this is a rather obnoxious floral. Fortunately, it doesn't linger long, but it may irritate some. There are better options out there.
