I wrongly assumed this was just glorified water, alcohol, glycolic acid and licorice in a bottle - it is a VERY basic ingredients list, however, this small combination of ingredients all seems to work somehow. I use this on an evening straight after my toner has dried by applying with a cotton pad and then once dried I skip the night cream and just leave this on to work. Yes it does tingle, for me I managed to reduce this by gently patting the liquid on instead of swiping it over my face and neck. It isn't magic, if your skin is used to stronger concentrations of glycolic you could probably give this a miss (it's only 5%). I find it just sufficient to refine my skin texture and give a subtle brightening effect yet without any kind of irritation. I have to stress the results were not overnight, it did take a full 1 week before I could visibly see a difference but considering how gentle it was on my skin, the wait was not an issue. very good as a spot treatment! I just apply a drop to any bump that appears and it calms it down literally overnight. Long term I wouldn't use this due to the high alcohol content but every now and again this is perfect to use as a skin pick-me-up. I received this product as a sample. Unfortunately I found this product very underwhelming. The perfume is overpowering and felt it almost making me queasy. After applying my skin felt gritty and tacky. And made my skin sting!

The physical exfoliant part is poor. Its much like the texture of Clinique's scrub but way less effective and not enough scrubby particles. The chemical exfoliant part is also poor, it doesn't make my skin smooth at at. Perhaps they wanted the gentlest (ie ineffective) of treatments but then why did they add peppermint? A known skin irritant that does nothing for skin. This might work if you use daily but to me this is an expensive waste of time

Ok I had to return this face product- something I have not done in 30 years! Most products I'll give away or endure but this was un-usableProblems:1) the pump dispenser is stiff and misbehaves- sometimes it works and other times it just gets stuck2) the serum is a thick gel but NO MATTER how clean the skin is, when rubbing it in, it balls up and curdles! Little curdle balls, yuckThe 1 night I used it, my skin was soft the next day, but no different that if I had just the Alpha-H Liquid GoldBuy this at your own gel- ball- curdling risk!

When I was first using the Alpha-H Protection Plus Daily SPF50+ Sunscreen I really loved it. It applies smoothing and has a subtle tint that prevents any of the usual white cast that mineral sunscreens can have. It works well over other skincare items and works well under foundation. If you normally prefer a very light coverage foundation this Sunscreen might be all you need because of the subtle tint. The tint could be very universal (with the exception of extremely fair skin tones). This also is slightly hydrating but not so much that you won't want to use your normal moisturizer or serum underneath. Now for the huge disappointment... this contains an ingredient called Methylisothiaolinone, which is an anti-microbial ingredient that is used in a few sunscreens. This is an irritant and an ingredient you want to avoid due to its status as an irritant and can cause dermatitis. This is really only supposed to be used in small amounts in rinse off products, so the fact that they have put it in a leave on product, in any amount, was a huge oversight. Very sad because otherwise this is quite an impressive sunscreen. My video review can be seen here:
