HG mascara for me! I have repurchased this three times so far and have no plans to stop. Here's what makes this a great purchase in my view --

Extremely waterproof -- This just just does not move. The formula stays on my lashes and does not flake or give me raccoon eyes after even when wearing it all day. After applying it sets in about 20-30 seconds. Once set, you'll need a …

I've been using a pot of this in NW20 as the core ingredient in my makeup routine for 4 to 5 years now. I have had (though it's improved quite a bit with peel products), a lot of hyperpigmentation from acne breakouts. The marks proved so difficult to cover with all of the makeup that I tried.

So years ago I went to MAC with a bare face (not fun, let me tell you) and asked …

Misc Beauty Tools - Sephora Collection - Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

Love this! Cheap, effective, sanitary. Checks all my boxes! I've been using this for about 7 months now.

I purchased this while looking for a physical exfoliating tool that was less expensive than a Clarisonic. I am constantly battling acne, so exfoliating is important for sloughing dead skin cells off so they don't combine with oil to clog pores. Turns out, this is nearly as …

Treatments (Face) - Philosophy - The Microdelivery Peel Pads

I've gone through three jars of these pads so far and I'll keep repurchasing (unless I find a cheaper substitute).

The main active ingredient in these is lactic acid, which in high concentrations has remarkably improving effects on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Because these pads have a lower concentration, I can use the pads daily or a few times per week and see …

Treatments (Face) - Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 40% Mandelic Acid Peel

Jan/04/2015

I have been using MUAC's 25% mandelic acid peel for just about a year now. I liked the way that it dissolved blackheads and kept acne at bay, so I decided to level up to the 40% after a particularly stressful / breakout heavy month.

I used a cotton swab to swirl the 40% mandelic peel all over my face with a second application over my cheeks and chin where I see hormonal breakouts …

Skincare - Face - Stridex - Triple Action Pads, Alcohol Free

Sep/01/2014

I purchased these Stridex pads for a desert camping trip to defend against my usual clogged pores and acne-proneness. I usually use Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash with salicylic acid in the shower every morning and night, but a week in the desert without showering wouldn't allow that. So I searched everywhere for a highly regarded salicylic acid pad in tough packaging that I could take with …Read more

Treatments (Face) - REN Clean Skincare - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

This didn't do anything for me. After some research on the REN site, I learned that this mask has only 6.5% glycolic acid. I don't think that's enough for my heavily exfoliated, acne-prone skin. For context: I use Peter Thomas Roth's Unwrinkle Peel Pads, which have a 20% complex of glycolic and many other acids, every other night for 45 minutes or more without irritation. This …Read more

Feb/22/2014

I have had not so great acne (read: I have to wear a full face of makeup each day to not look red with acne scars and active blemishes) for going on 16 years now, even into adulthood. I cannot believe that all the dermatologists I went to and friends that I consulted about my acne through the years never mentioned this kind of tool! I would have learned from a facialist I guess, but I spent my …Read more

Feb/22/2014

Just finished my first 1 ounce bottle of MUAC's 25% Mandelic Acid Peel and have purchased 2 more bottles as a replacement.

Overall, I am really impressed by the effectiveness of mandelic acid. I get quite a bit of hormonal acne and have been fighting it all my life. It's not gone (nothing's been a miracle so far), but I'm definitely clearer than usual when I use …

Skincare - Body - Unlisted Brand - Nature's Cure Body Acne Treatment Spray

Jul/19/2009

This is my second bottle of the Nature's Cure body acne spray, so I can say strongly that it is worth repurchasing. This is a godsend for preventing acne on your body in hard to reach places where tight clothing and sweat can cause breakouts. I put it on every morning for regular wear and then give a few extra spritzes around the sports bra area when I'm going to work out. It is not a …Read more
