Lipstick - ILIA - Lipstick Crayon Dress You Up

This is a green dupe for Nars Dolce Vita (lip pencil) on me. It's such a gorgeous, polished type lip product. It's creamy enough for me to not dry my lips out like crazy. Staying power is good but I need to reapply it after a couple hours wear (unlike Nars). The price was quite steep though, but it seems this is what you pay for higher end green beauty. Packaging is mostly good except …Read more

Eye Shadow - rms beauty - swift powder eyeshadow

This is a lovely eyeshadow, I have the shade TT-76, and would buy others if I had more money or they came in a little palette. If applied dry, it gives a sheer wash of colour but if applied wet it's so much more opaque. It wonderfully compliments my blue eyes. The packaging is neat, although sometimes I wish there was a mirror inside. You get quite a bit of product (2.5g) so the price is …Read more

Lipstick - Pacifica - Devocean in Tenderness

I bought this online after researching lots of swatches. Unfortunately, this colour just does not work on my lips, making them look pale in a chalky kind of way and it's quite drying (though my lips tend to dry very easily). However, it smells of coconut, which I adore, and there was something about it that made me not want to give up on it just yet. So I used it as a blush and it worked …Read more

Concealers - rms beauty - "Un" Cover-Up Foundation/Concealer

Nov/17/2017

When I received it initially I was disappointed that I'd paid so much for so little. Boy was I wrong! I have had this little pot of wonders for years and there's still so much of it left, it does not smell funky or has changed in colour or texture. Pigmentation is incredibly high and for concealing, I like to use a little synthetic brush I bought in an arts shop for £2 …Read more

This is a great green foundation in sustainable packaging. It does need to be applied a certain way though, which can be a bit faffy. I find it works best when applied over a face oil, spread with fingers and buffed in with a damp beauty blender. Coverage is medium, sometimes I wish it was a little more pigmented though (compared with the RMS Beauty Uncover up, which is incredibly pigmented). It …Read more

Palettes - Hourglass Cosmetics - Ambient Lighting - Edit Palette

I get it, I totally do. When I first heard about the ambient lighting powders I was beyond intrigued but the steep price deterred me. Then came the palettes and I thought if they make one combining the powders with the blushes, I will buy it. Then they made it and again, the steep price deterred me for ages. Until I just had to buy them because they look so gorgeous. And yes, the palette is very …Read more

Eye Shadow - Maybelline New York - Color Tattoo - Bad to the Bronze / On and On Bronze

OH MY WORD, why did I wait so long to try this?! Two reasons: I had previously purchased a different shade (a silvery dark grey) that was a pain to apply so I tossed it even though I loved the colour, secondly, the name "bronze" suggests that it runs quite warm and I'm somewhat afraid of using warm-toned shades.
But I needed to see what all the fuss is about and purchased it …

Powder - Tarte Cosmetics - Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation Powder

I was so looking forward to getting it, even more so because it's expensive and somewhat hard to get. I ended up buying it from someone who didn't get on with it off ebay. I'm a bit on the fence about this product. Firstly, it's a bit annoying to apply, you need a specific kind of brush (I use RT buffing brush) and you have to work it into the skin, I sort of push it in …Read more

Moisturizers - Embryolisse - Lait-Crème Concentrè (24-Hour Miracle Cream)

Very lovely moisturiser. I bought it spontaneously in Boots at the airport before a trip because my skin was acting up (reaction to Vitamin C, ingested not topical). I expected this to be very gloopy and thick for some reason but I really like it, it's creamy and smooth and my skin likes it a lot. It doesn't pill (something I really dislike), works great under makeup but also mixed with …Read more

Moisturizers - Unlisted Brand - Pure Argan Oil

Oct/11/2015

I'm using argan oil bought from the healthfood store in Germany (brand is called "Vitaquell" from the food section). It's cold pressed and I bought 250 ml for 23 eur, a very very good price indeed and will go a very long way. I filled it into smaller dropper bottles for easier use and travel. I had previously used a small bottle (20ml) of argan oil that I had bought in a shop …Read more
