Eye Shadow - NYX Professional Makeup - Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha

NYX Iced Mocha, Y U do dis?! I wanted to love you so much. I was so happy when my local CVS started carrying NYX and even more happy when I saw they had you, Iced Mocha. Honestly, you are the most beautiful color I've ever seen. But why must you crease so much? :(
The first time I used this shadow pencil, I used no primer. Kind of a bad decision for someone with hooded, oily lids. Of …

Lipstick - RIMMEL - Lasting Finish by Kate Moss - 10

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Jun/11/2014

Okay, real talk time. The only reason I bought this lipstick is because I needed to replace my Maybelline Color Sensational Red Revival and this lipstick had my name written all over it. Literally. My name is Kate and I needed a red lipstick.
I had never used Rimmel before, and now I know they have decent lipstick. I really wish I could give this lipstick more like a 3.5, but alas, I had to …

Lipstick - Lancôme - Color Design - Love it!

5.0

Jun/11/2014

I received this lipstick from my mom's GWP. She's been a total Lancome junkie since the 80's, and she always makes sure to buy her staples when there's a GWP available. Since she only wears brown hued lipcolors, I get all the pink ones. And because my lipstick is a free gift one, I can't really comment on the packaging. The Color Design lipsticks are packaged much fancier …Read more

Mascara - CLINIQUE - Bottom Lash Mascara

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Jun/08/2014

One of my favorite looks is bold bottom lashes, and I love that a brand has finally created a good product for defining bottom lashes. I've used Clinique eyeliner before, and liked it, so I'm not totally new to the brand. I heard about the mascara before, but reading reviews on makeupalley assured me that this product was not just a gimmick. First off, the mascara itself is tiny. But …Read more

Mascara - Maybelline New York - Illegal Length Fiber Extensions

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Jun/08/2014

When purchasing drugstore mascara, Maybelline is my go-to brand. I heard about this mascara from a blog, and that it was a good at lengthening. Fiber mascaras can sometimes be irritating, but I haven't experienced that with this one. I like how much it lengthens my lashes, and it only slightly affects my curl. The packaging feels nice and sturdy, and I love the brush. I'm really big on …Read more

Brows - Maybelline New York - Define-A-Brow [DISCONTINUED]

4.0

Jun/08/2014

I've always been apprehensive about doing my brows, as I have medium/dark brown hair naturally (level 5A), but I bleach to a pretty light cool blonde (level 9N-9A). So of course my brows are quite dark compared to my blonde hair. I consider my brows to be my best feature, so I've started filling them in and defining the arches. I heard about this brow pencil from makeupalley, of course …Read more

Mascara - COVERGIRL - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Jun/08/2014

I feel kinda bad giving this mascara 2 lippies, because it deserves more like a 2.5, however, it really doesn't do much for my lashes. My usual drugstore HG is Maybelline Full N Soft, but the last tube of it I bought acted differently on my lashes than before, so I decided to purchase something different. Being a broke, recent college grad, I always turn to makeupalley to see what products …Read more

Moisturizers - Alpha Skin Care - Enhanced Lotion - 10% AHA

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/28/2013

Love this lotion! It has 10% glycolic acid and a pH of 4, which is a concentration and pH to be an effective exfoliant. If you are older and need heavier duty AHA, I would recommend the 12% AHA soufflé, but this lotion would still work well. I would definitely recommend this lotion to younger people and those with sensitive skin. People on a budget will also like the lotion better than the jarred …Read more

Eye Primer - e.l.f. Cosmetics - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer [DISCONTINUED]

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/28/2013

As all other e.l.f. products, this primer is very budget friendly ($3). I actually really like this primer and it's great quality for the price. I did take off one lippie, however, because it does SLIGHTLY crease on me. But, it still makes a big difference versus no primer. I do have super oily lids though, so it could just be me. If you're new to primer, definitely try this out …Read more

Loose Powders - e.l.f. Cosmetics - High Definition Powder

Like basically everyone else on MUA, I love this product. I use it with the e.l.f. studio powder brush and press it on. It works great in setting my foundation and on me, it provides great oil control in my T-zone. The packaging is a little weird, but for $6, I really don't care. One other use for it that I love is using it as a dry shampoo substitute. Whenever I find my bangs or sideburns …Read more
