Fragrances - La Maison de la Vanille - Kilikao Aromes Des Iles

4.0

If you're in the mood for a fragrance that makes you smell like a hot fudge sundae but buying it won't delete your life savings, I highly recommend Kilikao. This is a true chocolate fragrance that's nicely sweetened with musk, amber, and (obviously) vanilla. This is Lea Extreme without the almond, Serendipitous without the blood orange, Amour de Cacao without the fruit, Angel …Read more

Fragrances - Bond No.9 - Chez Bond

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Chez Bond is an attractive masculine tea fragrance with a deep sandalwood drydown. At first it seems to be the perfect scent to wear with a black tuxedo. There's an herbal note in the drydown, however, that ruins this image, and brings to mind drug-store type men's cologne. This paradox keeps me from being impressed with Chez Bond. I'm disappointed with my experiences of Bond …Read more

Fragrances - Bond No.9 - Wall Street

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/03/2005

This smells great on my husband. I love the grass notes, which are very prominent to me. Wall Street is a clean, beachy, slightly citrus fragrance that reminds me a bit of Clinique Happy for Men. It completely contradicts my memories of the ambiance of Wall Street; instead it makes me think of Martha's Vineyard. If my husband really appreciated fragrance I might consider spending $198.00 …Read more

Fragrances - Bond No.9 - Eau de Noho

Boring. It's a weak, musky floral with zero lasting power. It's not even interesting enough to dislike. If I concentrated really hard I smelled some rose, but no violet, and the type of musk in this fragrance, to me has been vastly outdone by Coty.

On my skin: Men's Deodorant + baby power. Not good. It reminds me of hugging someone after a summer marathon. Won't be spending $198.00 on this, thank goodness.

Fragrances - Bond No.9 - Nuits de Noho

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/03/2005

I completely understand and agree with the comparisons to Angel, but, to me, Nuits de Noho smells remarkably like Liz Claiborne Spark. I love the smell of Nuits de Noho, but it isn't unique enough to justify the price (to me) and Spark lasts about 80% longer on my skin. Nuits de Noho is a very classy, sophisticated fragance that brings to mind limousines and 5th Avenue suites. Since …Read more

Fragrances - La Maison de la Vanille - Vanili

5.0

Sep/03/2005

This is THE perfect vanilla-musk fragrance, and the slight hints of woods give it depth and a serious feel that overly sweet vanillas can't pull off. It's subtle, yet sexy, and smells amazing. I prefer Vanili to the beloved Lea St. Barth because it's cleaner and not syrupy. vanili has a quality I can describe only as "crystalline". La Maison says it's "a …Read more

Fragrances - La Maison de la Vanille - Vanille Givrée des Antilles

5.0

La Maison describes Antilles as "Oriental, flowery, and very slightly spicy, subtle and refined like a fragile pearl, a hint of mystery, a longed-for moment..."
I originally received this as a gift from a fabulous MUAer who knows how much I love this line. I smell warm, sweet vanilla, hints of tuberose, and spice. Antilles is a gorgeous summer daytime scent that has rendered me …

Fragrances - La Maison de la Vanille - Vanille Noire du Mexique

I love this to the point that I crave it. It's evocative of my romantic imaginings of Aztec Ruins, and magical, sensual Mexican nights. La Maison describes it as "a voyage, a sea of white panamas against a burning blue sky, a fleeting silhouette that melts away into the soft balmy scents of vanilla, opopanax, iris, tonka bean and patchouli." A sparkling top note of bergamot gives …Read more

Fragrances - La Maison de la Vanille - Madagascar EDT

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/03/2005

I am in love with this fragrance. I love La Maison de la Vanille, and I didn't think they could top the beautiful Mexique, but Madagascar comes really, really close. This is a unique and intense scent. It's not a cute, girly, bubble-gum vanilla, but a woody, mossy fragrance with hints of vanilla undertones and the classic La Maison de la Vanille base. La Maison describes Madagascar …Read more
