After seeing the black nail craze, I thought I would try it on again (I haven't worn black polish since my HS goth/punk days). It is a nice glossy black, especially with the Seche Vite topcoat. No chips and still shiny after a week. I can pull off this look easily since it matches my jet black hair, so it looks chic and pulled together instead of immature, but do keep nails short otherwise …Read more

Opium is being advertised again, probably to market towards the hip youngsters who are clad in retro 1980's YSL outfits. Is it going to make it back on beauty shelves? No. It is just too old, too worn-out and smells too much like expensive Spanish soap. There is a limited edition bottle out now that is goregous in satin black with a light pastel Oriental flower print on the front. The …Read more

While I respect Hilary Duff as one of those actresses that are elegant and demure (plus her style is always fashionable), her scent formula is a bit off. I liked it on the first whiff, but in the dry down there was an element of pugnancy that turned me off. I give her more points for the bottle design and casing which would be a nice collectors item. Notes: Mangosteen Fruit, Exotic Spice Blend …Read more

This is killer, I mean lotus flower eating people killer. If you are Odysseus, you must own this fragrance. This is a rose well-done with the lotus flower and sensual musk added in to blend a perfect balance of pure comfort. I find the scent very soft and flowing, warm and cozy, just like Banana Republic clothing. This is great to wear year-round with no hype following you of being trendy. It is …Read more

Stinky. I do get a 70's vibe with this scent. The bottle is perfect for those Missoni fashion hounds, but now there seems to be a trend of pink bottles that I hate and this one runs the risk of being a trend. This is how it is described, "Radiant Yellows corresponds to top notes of Italian bergamot, nespolo and magnolia; Magenta Pinks presents middle notes of peonies and dewy rose …Read more

Cheap scent. Cheap bottle. It smells like a teenager, only a bubbly pink one that is annoying. Proctor & Gamble makes this so you know it is generic stuff. Save your money for a nicer fragrance and don't buy your daughter this either.

I actually like the pen, but I ditched the other items. I use it underneath my nail instead of over it and just let the leftover bits peel off after a good hand washing or use remover. The only problem is that it is a pain to get underneath the nail to remove the polish, but at least I have no aweful chipping. I do use a clear coat of Barielle Manicure Extender afterwards to seal it. It can last …Read more

I just bought this since it was new and it works great before a manicure. The micro-crystals act as microdermebrasion particles on the skin. It is rough and gritty, but enough so that it actually exfoliates well. The scent is really a nice lavender too. I used to use a microderm face cream on my hands (Pond's), but now I will use this and save the other for my face. You do need to follow up …Read more

I like the idea of a manicure mistake pen, but this fails to deliver. The tips do get dirty pretty quick (for dark polish), so you obviously run out of them quickly (3 to a pack). Also, the solution dries up too easily and I find myself buffing like mad around the edges to get the polish off. I will not buy again and use swabs dipped in polish remover next time. Maybe they need to make a felt-tip …Read more

Okay. So I had an accident at the library trying to slip out a Dylan Thomas book when my left-hand pointer finger nail bent back halfway down. Ouch!! I put some ointment on it and drove home to quickly repair it with the Instant Fix. It was my first time using it as I saved it for the dreaded day any of my nails split in half. First, clean the area before you use it to keep infection away. Then …Read more
