The claims:

“The high 2% concentration of GHK and GHK-Cu in CAIS2 targets signs of skin aging, including visible textural damage, uneven tone, visibly enlarged pores and a general lack of healthy radiance normally present in younger skin. In short, the skin will look healthier with continued visible improvements with continued use.”

After using up 3 bottles of the copper peptide …

Treatments (Face) - Paula's Choice - 10% Niacinamide Booster

Dare I say: game changer? Having used so many product over the years (from Olay to The Ordinary) with niacinamide in them and not having experienced the many benefits of niacinamide (pores, texture, moisture, skin tone), I think calling this Booster a game-changer is fair. Within a couple days of using 4-6 drops, usually 2x a day, my skin started to look more even, somewhat plumper and maybe a …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Paula's Choice - Resist 1% Retinol Booster

The texture of this retinol product is thinnest I've encountered so far, and it contains multiple soothing ingredients (oat, licorice etc) and it works really well with most other products without being too heavy, greasy or balling up. I don't really use it consistently as a retinol treatment as it seems weaker and less potent than some other retinol products that also have 1% retinol …Read more

Moisturizers - SkinCeuticals - Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2

Nov/10/2018

When it first came out in 2016 I got a handful of samples, tried it for a few days and thought it was ok. Moisturized skin really well (on its own, with no other moisturizers like essences or serums underneath) and wasn't too greasy, the former is easy to find as any decent moisturizer will do +/- same for roughly 1/10th of the price, the latter is a bit more rare to find for someone like me …Read more

Moisturizers - VICHY - Mineral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum Moisturizer

3.0

Oct/02/2018

After going through a couple 5 ml samples I don't think this does any serious hydration, at least not to justify adding this booster to my routine. It's a nice gel, absorbs rather quickly, but it's slightly tacky to touch. Vichy promises it will boost moisture and plump skin up, aside from the promise of relatively simple formula (89% is their thermal water) that leaves out a lot …Read more

Liquid - La Roche-Posay - Toleriane Teint Ultra-Workable Fluid Corrective Foundation SPF 25

There are two positive things about this foundation: it does have a high-ish coverage and it doesn't irritate skin at all. On the negative side it has an abysmal shade range of just 4 colors that are more neutral leaning than anything, for people with warm undertones or more pigmented skin there are no options. The foundation also doesn't look natural on skin, there are enough full …Read more

Moisturizers - Deciem - The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/06/2018

When I got this product I sort of expected something that works similarly to the plethora of hyaluronic serums out there (and more along the lines of The Ordinary's own HA offering), except the hydration coming from something marine-derived. What I got was this water thin product, which on itself isn't a dealbreaker as Niod's MMHC2 is of similar viscosity and works just fine for …Read more

Dry Shampoo - Living Proof - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Jun/03/2018

It does what it's supposed to, it absorbs oil and makes hair appear cleaner, but that's about it. It gives a bit of volume/texture to hair, but not more than something like Batiste or what have you would. The PhD dry shampoo isn't that well suited for darker hair either as it's very on the white and powdery side (think Klorane) and unless the powder is combed out or otherwise …Read more

Lip Treatments - DHC - Lip Cream

4.0
Created with Sketch.

May/17/2018

It's a decent lip treatment and has some really good moisturizing ingredients, but also some that could be potentially problematic for certain sensitive individuals, like olive oil or phenoxyethanol (YMMV). The finish is a little on the glossy side, but not horribly artificial. Never tried it under a lipstick or lipgloss, so can't comment on how it performs in that area, but lip cream …Read more

Treatments (Eye) - Deciem - Niod Fractionated Eye Concentrate

Feb/18/2018

So I used up the entire 15 ml bottle (lasted me from November 2017 to February 2018 with 2x daily use) and while there is about weeks worths left at the bottom it's pretty safe to say it does very little for me, despite all the novel ingredients and actually present delivery systems/carriers (PGLA, cycloamyloses etc) for them. I mean, the claims are staggeringly high, exceeding anything that …Read more
