Moisturizers - SK-II - StemPower

Love this and SK-II! I lived in Japan for a few years and really bought in (pun intended) to J-beauty and K-beauty. With very dry skin, using products from these two countries, my skin has COMPLETELY turned around. I was using .05% Retin-A for anti-aging purposes, so that on my dry skin always made it worse. I started using J and K products every other night (using Retin-A on alternate nights) …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Unlisted Brand - Cure Natural Aqua Gel

This definitely takes off dead skin, and I know because I use heavy-duty peels (TCA, glycolic, and lactic), and if my face starts peeling but looks like the process could use a little nudge, I use the Cure Aqua Gel, and the dead, peeling skin is gone (the "balling" effect). Another observation: If I use this product the next day, it won't "ball," or it does very little …Read more

Treatments (Face) - MISSHA - Time Revolution Night Repair New Science Activator Ampoule

I love this. I bought it to compare with my Estée Lauder serum, and I adore it. I have very dry skin that doesn't break out. On nights that I don't use Retin-A, I cleanse my face, tone with SK-II essence, apply a CoQ-10 serum, and then apply this. When it's soaked it, I apply moisturizer. If I don't use this, I can tell a big difference in the lack of moisture in my skin …Read more

Liquid - MAC Cosmetics - Studio Face and Body Foundation

Meh. This doesn't cover anything. It has even less coverage than my Dr. Jart BB Cream. It's not a bad foundation, but it's probably the most sheer foundation I have ever come across. It would be good for chest application to blend away slight imperfections, I suppose. Also, the MAC consultant matched me to C1 because she said I had warm undertones. I thought it still looked too …Read more

Liquid - MAC Cosmetics - Mineralize Moisture SPF 15

Wouldn't ever purchase this. The MAC consultant put this on my skin with a MAC brush. It separated immediately on my face (like oil and water) and looked terrible! I have very dry skin, but I've never had such a problem with any moisturizing foundation. This was just a very strange finish. Looked cakey and unnatural.

Treatments (Face) - Unlisted Brand - Pure Vitamin E Oil (all brands)

Wow. I have dry skin and am always looking for something to help the crow's feet that are beginning to creep up. A friend left me a small squeeze bottle of pure Vitamin E oil (something you could buy in the drugstore or grocery store). It was very thick and viscous, so I was nervous to try it.

I applied my usual routine: .05% Retin-A, waited 60 minutes, then my DHC EGF cream. …

Dude. This stuff rocks! I am pretty sure I will not repurchase my Dr. Gross Extra Strength Peel Pads. My background: Dry skin, nightly Retin-A user, 50% gloycolic peels every 3-ish weeks, Vitamin C in the mornings. My face is pretty tolerant. Anyway, this is 15% glycolic, according to the MUAC site. I received it as a sample with my glycolic peel order. I never even touched it until many, many …Read more

Moisturizers - CeraVe - Moisturizing Lotion - Normal to Dry Skin

Not really impressed. Doesn't provide enough moisture for my face or body, and it takes a while to sink in on my legs. It leaves a white cast that I have to keep rubbing in. I just don't get the hype. Maybe the cream is better, but if you have dry skin, this isn't your lotion at all. I prefer Nivea Q10 for my body and my usual department-store moisturizer for my face.

I have dry, fair skin. [EDIT: After about 5-ish weeks, I'm now done with my first 1 oz. bottle. Note: I tend to use products generously.] I believe my skin appears somewhat smoother, but nothing dramatic. I did transfer the liquid to an airless pump bottle (purchased from Amazon) and covered the bottle (everything but the dispenser) in duct tape to prevent light and air getting in -- …Read more

Moisturizers - CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

3.0

I don't know why Clinique changed the formula for this one (notice the + sign at the end of the name now), but it's super greasy now and leaves me like an oil slick, even though my skin is incorrigibly dry. It's too oily for day but not oily enough for night. (I put a pure mix of olive, coconut, and jojoba oil on my face at night.)

The old formula was very moisturizing …
