Eye Shadow - L'Oreal Paris - Watchful Owl's Gaze 215 Pressed Eyeshadow Quad

3.0

This quad was a pleasant surprise. To be honest, I felt a little manipulated by the blatant product placement in Project Runway, and yet, damn if I didn't run to my local CVS to check out the limited edition colors. Not everything was there, and Watchful Owl's gaze, which looked positively dumpy on tv, actually was the most appealing product they had left.

Anyway, it turns …

Palettes - LORAC - Multi-Platinum

5.0

Oct/16/2011

This is hands down, one hundred percent, my favourite eyeshadow palette. If my makeup collection were on fire and I could only save one object, it would be this. I buy my LORAC these days from HauteLook or from the discount section of their website, since their prices are too steep for me given how much makeup I already have, but this I bought at full price, and would buy at full price …Read more

Palettes - LORAC - Pink Python Palette

I'm quite fond of this palette. Ok -- I'm a bit biased. Ever since I've discovered LORAC eyeshadows, it's hard for me to use anything else. Only Lancome comes close to being as much of a pleasure to wear, sans primer, for everyday or for evening looks.

Although this palette has the slightly wilder blue and the quite pinkish blush, it's actually quite a …

Eye Shadow - Iman - Iman Luxury Eyeshadow in Pewter

Gorgeous, gorgeous eyeshadow. It's a sort of golden, warm grey. Wonderful for subtle daytime contouring. It's very flattering on my brown eyes. Smooth, very blendable formula. I highly recommend it!

Eye Shadow - Stila - Cassis Eyeshadow

One of my favourite contouring shades -- an absolute HG. It's a gorgeous purple that tends toward blue, so it doesn't make the eye area look reddish. (This is a problem I have with most purpley eyeshadows.) I can apply several layers for a dramatic evening look, but I can also blend a light layer into the crease of my eye for a subtle hint of shadow. Really, really love it and would …Read more

Eye Shadow - Stila - Tone Eyeshadow

5.0

This really seems more like a medium brown to me, with a slight hint of plumminess. It's one of my HG shades -- when I want to do makeup in a hurry, a light wash over my entire eyelid and then Tone for subtle contouring always does the trick. Blends beautifully. A real favourite.

Bronzers - Physicians Formula - Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer in Light to Medium

5.0

Oct/13/2009

Okay, so I bought this with a full rebate, which means I paid a couple of bucks for tax and postage. I don't typically use bronzer, and when I had tried cheaper versions they were too muddy on my face -- would have been good for theatre, not so good for wearing.

I've worn this a few times now, and I really like it. It's super, super subtle, but since I don't want to …

Blush - MILANI - Minerals Blush - Luminous [DISCONTINUED]

5.0

Oct/13/2009

I really had to search for this one, but since I found it half a year ago, I use it every day!

As others have written, it's a pinky-peachy-golden colour. I'm not particularly pale, but I find that the danger for me is applying *too much*. When I use a normal blush brush, I get a lot of colour. (Why would you bother with any free brushes? They're never any good.) Then …

Lipstick - REVLON - Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in #1 NUDE

4.0

Oct/13/2009

I bought a bunch of these lipsticks at CVS on a BOGO free sale -- and each of the packs had a bonus lippie, so they were really cheap. Had I paid $10.99, I don't think I would have been happy, but at somewhere around $2-3, I'm delighted.

The application is strange: you really have to do it in layers, and you have to be careful not to smudge the gloss outside of your lipline …

Cleansers - ORIGINS - Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil

5.0

Feb/28/2009

I *love* this! I read in a magazine at one point that using a cleansing oil to take off makeup is better for the skin around your eyes (less rubbing), so I decided to look for some -- and found it at my local Origins. It seemed kind of expensive at first. But, I quickly learned that I only needed a little bit, so I put some into a Mac 1oz travel bottle.

Well, four months of daily use …
