I bought this lotion after reading rave reviews and seeing some pics on the net. I got the shade Dark. For reference I have light to medium olive skin tone with yellow undertones, slightly darker in summer. As I try to avoid products with long, chemical laden ingredient lists, I welcomed the fact that this lotion seems like a decent alternative to many others that are heavily perfumed and filled …Read more

Cleansers - La Roche-Posay - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser

LPR Foaming Cream Cleanser is a basic, no frills cleanser that is very effective. It may be more suitable for combination skin types though. I quite enjoyed this product as I always prefer to double cleanse and wash with a flannel/microfiber cloth after taking my concealer and sunscreen off. I have super sensitive skin prone to allergic reactions but this foaming cleanser didn't cause me …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Reviva Labs - Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Sep/14/2014

I wanted to try another hyarulonic acid serum after I tried the Indeed Labs Hydraluron with some positive effects. Hyraluron was great for my skin but I didn't find it that moisturising. I have dry, sensitive skin prone to red rashes and intolerant to heavy fragrance and essential oils among many other chemicals. Reviva is scent-free which usually is good news for my skin. The first few …Read more

Mascara - CLINIQUE - Naturally Glossy Mascara

Lovely mascara for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers both of which I am. I forgot how many of this little tube I've purchased through the years! Easy to remove with Bioderma Sensibio H2O. I have very long eyelashes but they drop without the help of an eyelash curler and a bit of mascara. Although Naturally Gllossy doesn't volumise a lot, it still creates a full, long look …Read more

Moisturizers - Weleda - Almond Face Cream

2.0

Sep/14/2014

Weleda Almond Face Cream is an average moisturiser at best. The high alcohol content of this cream may be drying in the long term. I bought the Almond Cream and the Almond Cleansing Lotion while I was having a bout of sensitive skin due to excessive washing. Both of the products calmed my skin down but in a week or so I felt my skin started to get drier. It also enlarged my pores. I would not …Read more

Cleansers - Weleda - Almond Cleansing Lotion

Weleda Almond range is gentle but ineffective in my experience. The alcohol content of the products also may dry the skin in the long term. I bought the Almond cleanser when I was having a bout of irritated sensitive skin due to excessive washing. It calmed my skin down initially as it was pretty inert but I didn't feel that it was cleaning well. I struggled to finish the bottle. It …Read more

Loose Powders - Lily Lolo - Finishing Powder - Translucent Silk

Sep/14/2014

I was curious about Lily Lolo make up although I'm not sure how healthy mineral make up is. I purchased a few samples from their UK website, silk powder being one. I was very disappointed. It is a horrible product. I got itchy, it caked on my skin and underneath my eyes it accentuated the lines I don't even have! It caused my throat to get dry as well. I am super sensitive to a lot of …Read more

Skincare - Face - rms beauty - Raw Coconut Cream

I am in two minds about this product. I have very sensitive skin and try to always go for more natural options in my skin care. Through trial and error I found out that natural doesn't always mean better for your skin. Although I'm pretty convinced from my reading and looking into these things that from the perspective of health whatever we put on our skin gets absorbed and some …Read more

Lip Liners - MAC Cosmetics - Redd Lip Liner

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/14/2014

Great lipliner from Mac. Most of the lipliners I use are from Mac. I have very sensitive lips and mouth and these liners never cause me trouble. They have reasonably simple ingredients which make them a good choice for me with my chemical sensitivities. I use Redd with my lighter red shades even with pinky or orangey tones and it performs well. It may sometimes cause a slight feathering on the …Read more

Blush - Vapour Organic Beauty - Aura Multi-Use Blush

1.0

Sep/14/2014

Vapour products usually don't work for me. I find their performance very poor and colours quite dull. This blush is no exception. I tried a sample of this. It has an earthy smell that may be unpleasant for some people. It didn't cause a reaction on my super-sensitive skin but it wasn't a nice blush to use either. It has a grainy consistency and very solid which makes it hard to …Read more
