Target: Light neutral normal/combination skin (MAC NC20, Chanel B20, BB Sand, Dior 02).
Mission: Natural skin, travel friendly, matte-dewy, resistant, SPF, glycerin-free!

Summary: Other Hits have included Lancome Silky Mat, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Invisible Fluid is by far the best. It gives the most natural looking skin, but can be layered to give everything from light to medium …

Cleansers - Ole Henriksen - African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

My first venture into Ole Henriksen. Since most of his products contain glycerin (which my normal/combination skin hates) this seemed like a good start. Lovely smell, practical packaging and great cleansing action! However, after a couple of months of testing this out I can´t say it has brought anything new to my table. Quite the contrary, actually. This leaves a clingy residue that has lead to …Read more

After many years of fighting lucid mineral makeup and chalky compacts, I settled for oil-free liquid foundation because it provides the most natural and carefree look... Nowadays the formulations are getting more and more advanced and some of them are even mineral based, so you basically get the best of two worlds! :) My previous favorite was Lancome's Teint Idole Silky Mat, but after …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 5% BHA serum

Feb/13/2012

I've been wanting to try a stronger BHA (only used up to 2%), since my winter skin has been excessively flaky and dull. This fit the bill, but I was let down in numerous ways. 1) The main ingredient is alcohol which dried my skin out further. I looked like a crackled spectackle for weeks. Also, it burns like h*ll! 2) Another ingredient in glycerin. I can usually take it in small amounts, but …Read more

Lips - CHANEL - Rouge Allure Laque Phoenix 78

Oct/14/2011

This is truly a high quality product! Phoenix is a rosy neutral on the verge of being shockingly bright, but not. There are better pinks for me (L'Exuberant from Rouge Allure Velvet), but it is passable. I find the smell a little peculiar, but it applies like a dream. I do need a mirror though. Small mistakes are easily forgiven, it was not so with it's stepsister Dragon where any …Read more

Lip Gloss - CHANEL - Rouge Allure Laque Dragon no 75 [DISCONTINUED]

I owned this for exactly 3 days. I was looking for my perfect true red, but alas this was too blood-red for me. Completely overpowered by it. I substract one lippie because I found it slightly more difficult to work with than my other RAL in Phoenix. The latter applies evenly and small mistakes can be forgiven. Not so with the Dragon - it had to be picture perfect to be picture perfect. If you …Read more

Lipstick - CHANEL - Rouge Coco Shine Monte Carlo

Oct/14/2011

Monte Carlo is the color of strawberry juice on a white linen shirt. It's the only color in the range that I find suitable and pigmented enough for my high contrast coloring (B20 skin, dark brown hair and green/brown eyes). It slips on like a silk negligee and delivers a juicy finish to my lips. Sadly, the staying power is pretty bad (not a surprise considering it's consistency) and it …Read more

I bought No 37 L'Exuberante yesterday and...I LOVE IT!!! A neutral hot bright pink, it matches the Rose Exuberant nail polish perfectly. It is not as matte as I expected, more like a soft and nearly weightless creme. Looks gorgeous even without a lipliner and applies evenly. Love the pigment! Lasted through a sweaty spinning class where I was literally kissing the water bottle. I've …Read more

This was my first stint with liquid foundation after using mineral makeup for many years. I eventually grew tired of the messy jars, the buffing, bad staying power and flaky skin. Also, I could never use it on my forehead = comedones galore!! This product made me believe in liquid foundation again! It is mineral based (which I don't hate), has SPF, does not break out my sensitive skin. But …Read more

It's decent, but not something I'd buy again. The color selection is limited, this is a pretty neutral pinky-brown with the tiniest smidgen of orange. My usual choice of lip color are stronger reds, pink-reds, wine-reds and fuchsia. Slightly sticky, spreads evenly, does not dry out lips, but does not do much for hydration either. A good gloss for less meticulous days, but I don't …Read more
