Eyeliner - Stowaway Cosmetics - Effortless Eyeliner

I've had mixed results from this eyeliner. I started with Jet (black) and found that it smudged on me, then switched to Spice (bronze-y brown with shimmer) and found it was great for everyday, just enhancing my lashline and appropriate for day/work. I probably went through 2 or 3 of them, then ordered another replacement and found it to be hard and dry with absolutely no color payoff. There …Read more

Mascara - Stowaway Cosmetics - Waterproof Lengthening Mascara

This is a very good mascara, but not a great one--for me, anyway. The good: lengthens and defines beautifully, formula causes no irritation, and holds a curl ALL DAY (and I have straight Asian lashes that point downward, so putting all the effort into curling them only to have the mascara wilt them down again is an issue). The not-so-good: smudging at the outer corners a few hours after …Read more

Blush - Stowaway Cosmetics - Cheek & Lip Rouge

This is the star product of the Stowaway Cosmetics line, in my opinion. It lasts all day on my cheeks, blends easily and acts as a matte stain for the lips. That being said, having owned and used all 3 shades, I would probably only repurchase in the Cantaloupe color. The Burnt Rose is fine in the fall/winter months on my cheeks, but isn't super flattering on my lips. The Peony shade looked …Read more

Pressed Powders - Stowaway Cosmetics - Translucent Pressed Powder

I only use this dusted lightly over my t-zone to tone down shine as the powder is quite mattifying on my normal/combo skin. If I go overboard with it, my face ends up looking chalky and unnatural. Because of this, this little compact should last a surprisingly long time. As with all my other Stowaway products, it takes very little space in my toiletry bag when I travel and I love the simple chic …Read more

I've gone through 2 tubes of this and sometimes I liked it and sometimes it smelled like corn chips. Normal-ish skin, semi-arid climate, hard water, used during the fall and winter months and it was enough--but not quite for my hands which I wash constantly throughout the day. I'll keep it in the back of my mind for next year, but I'll definitely be trying out some other unscented …Read more

I live in southern CA, am prone to sunspots and have found that mixing a pea-sized amount of this with my moisturizer helps prevent them from forming (of course in conjunction with faithful sunscreen use everyday). For existing spots, it helped them from getting worse, but didn't really fade them noticeably--I think I'll still need a separate product to target those. However, I just …Read more

This is one of the few products from Drunk Elephant that was a let-down for me. The product itself is just okay--it didn't cause any irritation and it was fragrance-free, but value-wise, this is not worth the amount you pay. First off, the amount of actual balm is at best, a 1/3 or 1/2 of the tube and the tube itself is quite small. Most of it consists of the apparatus that allows you to …Read more

I'd been on the hunt for a TSA-friendly alternative to my previous HG facial cleanser, Paula's Choice Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser [which they discontinued, but then brought back due to popular request]. It wasn't like decanting wasn't a problem, but liquids are almost always heavier than their solid counterparts and I travel carry-on only with a backpack-style bag, so …Read more

I've been struggling to write a review for this product, with which I have a love/hate relationship. Love: the thin, liquid-y consistency, how light it feels on the skin, the lack of fragrance, the forgiving shades, the glowing finish it gives. Hate: the price, the ABSOLUTE lack of any kind of coverage, the lack of sun protection. Now, Glossier makes a blatant point of stating upfront that …Read more

Hello, why has the company sent me a sample-sized tube of concealer and charged me $16 for it? This was my immediate reaction upon receiving this in the mail. Now that I've been using it for 6 months or so, I can say the rage has died down considerably. This stuff packs quite a bit of pigment into its tiny, tiny tube (a little over 2.5" x 1" at the widest point, or ~7 cm x 2.5 cm) …Read more
