Moisturizers - La Roche-Posay - Effaclar H Compensating Soothing Moisturizer

My dermatologist recently prescribed a topical compound for me with the aim to combat my recent flare-up of hormonal acne; unfortunately the high percentage of salicylic acid content in this compound caused extreme drying all around my mouth - underneath my nose, on my chin, etc. No moisturizer I had in my arsenal was able to calm down the inflammation and dryness - we are talking FLAKING and …Read more

Moisturizers - Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Nov/08/2011

I purchased the Ultra Facial Oil-Free gel cream over the weekend and have used it AM/PM for the last three days. My skin is combination/oily, and I have particular issues with a very oily t-zone. My skin is sensitive to most products (very acne prone) and so I was reluctant to try it...

So far, my skin has reacted very well to it. No breakouts, and I'm not too sure what the …

Brows - benefit Cosmetics - Brow-Zing in Dark

5.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

I am on my third one of these kits. I have to say, the tweezers are absolutely bloody useless; however the two brushes provided are ample in applying both the waxy brow colour, and the more angled (softer) brush for the powdered brow colour. I am an absolute eyebrow nazi when it comes to shaping and grooming (I get them shaped professionally every two weeks) so I am serious about filling in these …Read more

Mascara - Dior - Diorshow Mascara

5.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

I have been cursed with terrible, straight, short Asian girl eyelashes. Nothing revs up my lashes better than Diorshow. I have TRIED THEM ALL (yes, I'm looking at you, Lancome). I've honestly tried every mascara in all different price ranges -- from drug stores to department stores, everything has been too thin, too clumpy, too flaky, etc. While I do like the Lancome lines (Definicils …Read more

Powder - PUR Cosmetics - Pressed Powder Foundation [DISCONTINUED]

4.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

I rotate on and off between PurMinerals and BareMinerals mineral makeup brands; I prefer PurMinerals "on the go" because of the compact format (the loose powder of BareMinerals is somewhat cumbersome if you need to re-apply on the go). I also enjoy the included sponge and mirror (on the underside of the compact), for those "on the go" occasions. I use the Dior powder …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - St. Ives - 24-Hour Moisture Lotion

4.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

I've always been a huge fan of St. Ives moisturizers, and this one is no different. I recently picked up a HUGE bottle of lotion for around $5.00 at my local grocery store and have been using it all over my body with great results! My skin has never been softer. I also love that it is absorbed very quickly and has a wonderful, light scent to it. Would definitely repurchase and love the new …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Zapzyt - Maximum Strength 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Gel

3.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

Holy moly, is this stuff strong. In Canada they only sell BP up to 5%, so when I found Zapzyt 10% BP at Target a few months ago, I hoarded multiple tubes. A little goes a long way, and it was a great tool in helping me clear up some patches of problem acne I had earlier this year. It's not too drying, considering it's 10%, but I still made sure to use a very good moisturizer in …Read more

Cleansers - Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

3.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

For years and years my dermatologist and pharmaceutical sales rep father would preach to me to use something simple and gentle like Cetaphil to help me clear up my acne... and for years, I listened to them, and continued having terrible acne. I realize Cetaphil is a proper solution for millions of people out there, but I absolutely loathe the stuff. It is, indeed, gentle, but that presents an …Read more

Shampoo - Neutrogena - Anti-Residue Gentle Clarifying Shampoo

2.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

Terrible product. My boyfriend insists on using it because he thinks it gets rid of all the hair product in his hair (that might be the case, but it's murderously drying and stripping on my hair). I've used it simply because he has it in the shower. Old formula or new formula, the stuff is terrible! My oily hair ends up looking like an oil slick at the end of the day when I use this …Read more

Deodorants - Unlisted Brand - Lafe's Natural and Organic Roll On Unscented

5.0
Created with Sketch.

May/24/2011

Please note that I regularly purchase the "Active" and "Tea Tree" varieties of Lafes Roll-On Deoderant.

I made the switch to all-natural deoderant years ago; I was once a big anti-persperant gal, but finally got turned off due to fears of breast cancer from the aluminum (apparently everything causes cancer these days, but I preferred not to take the risk). There are …
