One in a lifetime a product comes along out of nowhere that actually meets all your needs. For me this is Body Shop's Protect Emulsion.
It does everyhting ive searched for in a moisturiser that I didn't know existed in harmony. It has a prominent spf. It makes your skin look fresh and dewy when it's tired, ageing and sleep deprived. It's a bargain. It smells divine. I …

Dry Shampoo - Aussie - Wash and blow in a can

I think the issue here is that it's in fact impossible to make lank greasy hair look clean and fresh and like it's had a blow dry. It's a bit like the products that claim to mend split ends (sewing them? Sealing them?). We all know it's not gonna work but any product that claims to save time has got to be worth a try!
This product comes out just like hairspray, it's …

Blush - benefit Cosmetics - Majorette Peach Cream Blush

I was desperate for a peachy blusher but there are surprisingly few on the market. Opted for this - foolishly seduced by the gorgeous tin and dreams of how charming it would look in my make up box. Sadly it's just that - pretty packaging. The product provides an insant pop of cheery colour, a lot more subtle and flattering than the burnt magenta in its product pictures. But it fades almost …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Palmer's - Tummy Butter

You know when you’re heavily pregnant and most (honestly: all) things are more annoying and much harder work than they once were? Well this product just gives you another irritant. It was recommended to me and slightly more expensive than the lotion (which I found a bit wasteful as the pump - as with a lot of products with a pump - got clogged and stopped working after a time), but I thought 3rd …Read more

Run like the wind away from this!
I bought this after being tempted by an offer in Superdrug. I always use a Frizz Ease serum before blow drying and straightening my hair, but at £10 a pop, I thought it might be worth trying a cheaper alternative.
Well you buy cheap, you buy twice! I have binned this Batiste nightmare and will be rebuying the same Frizz Ease serum.
You’re …

Moisturizers - Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Moisturiser - Pink Grapefruit

This is surprisingly an amazing base for make up. Being a beauty nerd I have been known to take a picture on my morning and evening commute (this is shared with no one!) to see how my make up has lasted and see what needs improving. This is the ultimate test for the quality of make up because the lighting is hideous.
And this I can confirm passes the longevity test! By 6 PM my foundation is …

Sunscreen - VICHY - Capital Soleil SPF 50 mattifying face fluid dry touch

When it says dry it means dryyyyyyy....
I've been looking for a mattifying face cream with sunscreen forever. The non mattifying ones cause my foundation to melt off and the cheaper mattifying ones (Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit oil free moisturiser) actually do a decent job but don't contain an SPF which I'm adamant about wearing.
So after seeing the great …

I've come to realise this concealer actually makes me look more tired. I first apply Estee Lauder Double Wear then pop this on top. It just rubs off my DW and seems to make me look even more blue under the eye!
It does smooth on nicely though. Perhaps it needs to be dabbed more than spread? The applicator is also tricky. It spurts out in big blobs, so a lot ends up wasted. Won’t …

Really impressed with this as a facial oil. I apply it at night and I honestly wake up more glowing than a lot of the other oils I’ve tried, including Liz Earle. It glides on easily, smells lovely (quite perfumed) and lasts for ages. It also mixes well with fake tans – I do this as I find them very drying. However this minimises the drying effect but still allows the tanning to take place …Read more

Brows - RIMMEL - Brow This Way - Brow Styling Gel

I’m really happy with this product. I see it’s got a fair few bad reviews but I consider it a cheap and cheerful gel. Applying just one comb-over of this product (I have clear) doesn’t do the job, it’s not quite thick enough to tame my brows all day. However if I use the tip of the product and dab a thicker line of it across my brows it holds them in place all day. It also gives them a healthy …Read more
