Primer/ Corrector - RIMMEL - Stay Matte Primer

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Dec/02/2016

I use this for mattifying and place it on mostly on my T-zone (I also use a pore filling primer just on my large pores near my nose). I then use a powder foundation on top of it, so depending on what your routine is, your mileage may vary!

Pros:
Face takes longer to get shiny (less blotting!)
Foundation goes on/adheres nicely
Bronzer/Blush is vibrant for WAY …

Skincare - Face - Boscia - White Charcoal Mattifying MakeUp Setting Spray

I was really excited for this one and thought it would be an HG, but I didn't work out for me.

I bought it for oil control/makeup longevity and tested it in several ways (before makeup, to set my makeup, and both at the same time). I do like the finish it gives and it feels nice on the skin; however, I found it did not live up to its mattifying claims.

The final test …

Powder - Meow Cosmetics - Flawless Feline Mineral Foundation

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Jul/11/2016

I was on the hunt for a cruelty-free, mineral, medium to full coverage foundation. As a former bare minerals matte user, I was ready to try something more cost effective. The 3 oz jar from Meow is $40 (it's HUGE) vs. the 0.2 oz jar from BE for $28.50. That's a massive savings!

I chose Flawless Feline to get the most coverage. It applies smoothly and wears well throughout the …

Lip Liners - NYX Professional Makeup - Slim Lip Pencil - Ever

5.0

Jul/11/2016

Holy grail lip product! I wear it all over the lips and it lasts all day. It's a warm muted mauve. It's versatile for me because I use it as an everyday color, a liner under another lipstick, and it even looks good with a grunge style look.

I think of this as a "nude" because my lips are very rosy and most nudes look very sandy and beige on me.

Lips - NYX Professional Makeup - Soft Matte Lip Cream (All)

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Jul/11/2016

Mileage may vary based on you color choice, but overall these are great little liquid lip creams.

They are unlike other liquid lippies because they apply like a cream and they don't dry like paint. However, I have to work a bit harder to get full opacity with this lipstick. Because they do not set quickly, it's not super easy to add another coat of the color as you just end …

Eye Primer - wet n wild - Fergie Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer [DISCONTINUED]

HG PRIMER! Oily lids? Look no further...this has got to be the closest dupe to Urban Decay Primer Potion (save those hard earned dollars, ladies and gents!).

Background: I've been using ELF primer (the 2 dollar one, also apparently called a dupe for UDPP) and it's just been so-so. It helped with pigmentation and to "stick" the pigment, but didn't combat the …

Pressed Powders - RIMMEL - Stay Matte Pressed Powder

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Aug/19/2015

I don't get the hype for this one. I'm an oily skinned gal and the matte effect does not last. The coverage isn't great either, but it still looks cakey (confusing!). It seems like any other cheap powder to me. Maybe it's just not amazing if you live in Arizona and also have oily skin, like me.

(Also, the packaging truly is horrid...you basically can't take it …

Primer/ Corrector - Hard Candy - Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray

5.0

Aug/19/2015

So, like everyone in the cheap, cruelty-free makeup game, I've been using ELF setting spray on the daily. It does the job, but leaves your face feeling super wet (with large droplets) and shiny.

The Hard Candy setting spray, while twice the price (6 bucks vs. 3 for ELF), solves these issues and... it just holds your makeup better. It's a glorious fine mist that doesn't …

Cleansers - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Dec/16/2014

Things I use coconut oil for: EYE makeup remover, deep conditioning hair treatment.

I am reading horror stories on here about people using it as a full facial cleanser and makeup remover thinking, "well, yeah...it can clog pores." To be more clear, it is a highly comedogenic oil and thus, is not suitable for acne prone skin. So, if you know your face, you may know if this is …

Cleansers - CeraVe - Hydrating Cleanser

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Dec/16/2014

I think I have found my Holy Grail of cleansers!

Although the bottle states "for normal to dry skin," I, of course, have oily acne-prone skin! However, after years of harsh cleansers with acne-fighting ingredients, I have finally realized (DUH) that my oily, but also flaky, skin needs something SIMPLE and hydrating! It's really true! Oily skin does need hydrating …
