Eye Shadow - Urban Decay - Buck

I don't actually use Buck as an eye shadow, but instead to fill in my rather sparse auburn brows. It's the perfect color if "brown" is just too brown for you. (I have the problem that anything too brown matches my freckles and makes me look ruddy.) This has an overall touch of rose in it that matches my hair well, stays all day and is totally matte. I got it in the UD Naked …Read more

I'm giving this product 5 lippies for the color and texture. My skin is fairly dry and it does not emphasize that. Covers my pores but not my freckles (just dims them a bit). Wear time seems average for me in the humid South, and it's expensive. For me, though, it's worth it. Most people say "gosh, you're yellow for a redhead". I am. I get very tan in the summer but …Read more

Polishes - Sally Hansen - Smooth And Perfect

I wanted to love this polish -- the colors are really pretty nudes and they don't chip quickly. However, the formula is so gloopy! I thinned it out a little bit and it was STILL gloopy. I am particular about nail polish, but I expected better from Sally Hansen, especially for a polish called "Smooth and Perfect." I do like how wide the brush is, though. And if you can get it …Read more

Primer/ Corrector - benefit Cosmetics - The POREfessional Face Primer

This product, which I received as part of Benefit's How To Look The Best At Everything kit, has a lovely, powdery finish and it really does help to minimize my pores. However, it can make my skin look flaky -- which is odd, because I rarely experience flakiness. It also leads to some excess oiliness on my chin in particular after a few hours. I use it every once in awhile but it's not a …Read more

Makeup Brushes - Elizabeth Arden - Face Powder brush

Today I bought my second EA angled powder brush after the one I'd had for 2 years disappeared over Halloween weekend. This is a beautiful brush, densely packed, well weighted, and with oh so soft bristles. For me, it deposits the right amount of powder whether it's Lorac's Poreless Perfection of MUFA HD Powder (what usually I use daily). Love it. And I had forgotten about how …Read more

Holy Grail of foundations at last! I can't believe how much I love it. One layer gives you sheer, matte perfection for every day, two layers gives a heavier coverage if you need it or if you want a more polished look. No fragrance, no need to use primer with it, great packaging, applies smoothly no matter which tool you use (I prefer my fingers). It's a bit more watery than other …Read more

One of my HGs. Traditional nude nail polish (on my fair skin). Gorgeous, dark version of nude with rosy tints. It really does something for my skin. Definitely a staple. Love the packaging with the wide brush and the thickish consistency of the polish. Just beautiful!

I have normal-to-dry, sensitive skin and this product is seriously great. It makes my skin feel incredibly smooth. I've been using it almost daily for a month and I swear that my skin is better even without makeup, as though it also serves as a moisturizer. Doesn't make the skin greasy -- leaves a powder smooth foundation for your concealer, powder, foundation, whatever. Makes my pores …Read more

I think it's a stunning color in the bottle, and it's lovely on nails (although a bit more subdued and average than I'd expected) but it's thick and goopy -- at least, my bottle was. I found it hard to apply smoothly, not just the first time I used it, but the next few times as well. I had this nail polish in Wallis as well, and it too was hard to apply. Also, I could've …Read more
