Had a bad reaction to this product within three days of use: raised, itchy bumps all over except for my forehead. Worst along jawline and mouth. Looked like a case of heat rash - no redness and not super noticeable but very uncomfortable. Disappeared within a week. My skin isn’t sensitive but this product absolutely wasn’t for me. Enjoyed the packaging though, and liked how the product felt on …Read more

Cleansers - CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Effective yet super gentle cleanser. I use a lot of sunscreen and have previously used two cleansers to remove it all. This takes care of it on its own, and leaves no residue. I massage it I for a minute and two, and find that it removes a lot of SF’s and clogged pores. It doesn’t leave my skin dry as other oil or balm cleansers have, and it contains no irritating ingredients. In short, it’s …Read more

Moisturizers - Eucerin - Ultra SENSITIVE Soothing Care Normal to Combination Skin

Great no-frills moisturiser for my sensitive, clog-prone combination skin. To be fair, it’s not a very exciting product - but it actually works for me. Since I started using it my skin is a great deal smoother (less irritation and CC’s), more even in tone and over all more supple. It’s not super moisturising, but it gives my skin just enough hydration to combat surface dryness from using acids …Read more

Sunscreen - La Roche-Posay - Anthelios Shaka Fluid (Sans Parfum) SPF50+ PPD 46

Very much an improvement of the Ultra light sunscreen. Has a PPD rating of 46, which is even more impressive as there is zero white cast. Like the old version, it has a runny consistency and sets in about 15 minutes. However, it doesn’t set completely, which sometimes bothers me. I’m very careful to apply makeup on top, as it seems to move around easily.
The formulation is without a doubt …

Had a tester. I use cleansing oils to get my mineral sunscreen off. I guess this must’ve reacted with the sunscreen, because as I tried to rinse it off, it didn’t emulsify but rather turned into a silky, thick film that STUCK to my face. All I was to make this film lather a bit, but it could not be rinsed off (apart from with a gel cleanser).I’ve tried a lot of cleansing oils and this has never …Read more

HG high-zinc physical sunscreen!

Why I love it:
- Almost NO white cast. (I'm pale, NC15, so it might still be bothersome for darker skintones.)
- 18,6 % non-nano zinc oxide in a sensible, simple formulation (no heavy oils, no fragrance or essential oils)
- Light, easily spreadable texture; you can apply the correct amount without turning into a ghost or greaseball
- …

Caused clogged pores. I have combination skin with a tendency to dehydration and sensitivity. Bought this to counteract dryness from retinoids. The first two weeks, I saw great results. Really extraordinarily great: my skin was supple, even-toned, had a lovely glow and felt overall healthy. I even got compliments, which otherwise never happens. Unfortunately I soon discovered blackheads all over …Read more

Alas... This could be good, if it were not for the white cast. I'm pale (NW15) and yet this turns my face a charming lavender shade.

The lotion has a whipped, thick-yet-lightweight consistency, is non-greasy, spreads easily and dries to a matte finish. My skin is combination and slightly dehydrated, and I find this isn’t moisturising enough to wear on its own. With a hydrating …

As others have noted, the white cast makes this practically unwearable. I wore it all the same during a sunny day at sea, and while I didn’t burn (and my melasma didn’t worsen - that’s something) it made my face break out all over. This has never happened to me before, and I am frankly quite surprised that a product could cause such a reaction from just using it once. I had tiny whiteheads and …Read more

This balm melts to a thin oil, which breaks down makeup but lacks that luxurious and rich feeling. While the product does a good job of dissolving even heavy eye makeup, it does not wash off easily. Actually, even after splashing and massaging with warm water, an oily film with makeup residue is left on my face. Which means I need to second cleanse. This would be okay if only the balm didn't …Read more
