This product was worth a trip to Wal-Mart just to pick up (note: I live in a rural area where the closest Wal-Mart is about a 45 minute trip away, so I rarely go). I loved that it didn't have a silicone, slippery feel and was more of a thin lotion consistency. One pea sized dollop is all I needed for my whole face and I was a big fan of the way it kept the oilies at bay all day. It was only …Read more

Pressed Powders - Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

Right out of the gate, I returned this. I loved the packaging but didn't love the product so back it went. It was just a normal, sort of chalky, basic powder that didn't do anything magical or even that remotely effective. For the price I expect something unique or at least workable. This powder was neither.

Blush - Charlotte Tilbury - Colour of Youth

Love this lovely cream blush and adorable compact. The color is between a pink and a coral and although it's a bit pale on the lips it's definitely wearable, unlike some other products advertised as good for both lips and cheeks. Would certainly repurchase!

Tinted Moisturizer - LUSH - Colour Supplement

I bought this online as there is no Lush available near me for about 250 miles. To gauge the right shade (since I think that their descriptions online are awful and not quite descriptive enough..I mean really, "dark pink".."light yellow"?? Who thinks about their skin tone in those terms) I relied on youtube reviews which gave verbose descriptions of the product and some good …Read more

Cleansers - Lumene - Lift Touch Rejuvenating Cleansing Oil

May/28/2010

Worst cleansing oil, ever! Well, of the ones I've tried, anyway. I love DHC and Origins' Clean Energy but have to order the former and wait for it in the mail or else haul my cookies to the crowded mall for the latter. I ran out and hadn't decided which way to go when I remembered MUA reviews of Lumene as a good alternative. I picked this one up from my local CVS on my lunch …Read more

Powder - ORIGINS - Multi-Grain Makeup

I have tried so many MMU brands (Alima, EM, Philosophy Supernatural, UD, BE, MAC, LM and several drugstore brands) and this one tops them all. I love that the finish is natural and non-cakey and it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup at all, just like I have even-toned, more perfected skin. It doesn't cover everything (in other words, it's not a mask) but it offers the best …Read more

Liquid - CLINIQUE - Even Better Makeup SPF 15

This stuff is great! It covers really well for a light product and tones down my redness and really evens me out while not looking or feeling like heavy makeup. I use it for work with a little powder over it or by itself on the weekend for a quick, put together look. I would definitely repurchase this and would recommend it to anyone to give it a try. I'm NW25-27 in MAC and use Neutral.

Liquid - NARS Cosmetics - Sheer Glow Foundation

This stuff did not work for me at all. More about me to help YOU compare: oily/combo, acne prone but under control via Rx and no wrinkles at age 34. I prefer a lighter texture for foundation with a more natural glowy finish, so I opted for the Sheer Glow rather than the Sheer Matte when I saw these new NARS foundations, despite my oily nature. In truth, the Sheer Glow sucked up any …Read more

Styling Products - AVEDA - Brilliant Humectant Pomade

I would not buy this again because I think I was directed to the wrong product by my one-time stylist. He should have directed me to the anti-humectant pomade since we live in a town with 95%+ humidity year round. However, he recommended this. I have been using it to add weight and shine to my hair when I straighten it (I have naturally wavy tresses that are hard to control) but now that I see …Read more

Liquid - Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15

I would definitely buy this product again because it is truly a wonder for my skin. I use Beige (NW 25-27) and though it runs a teensy itty bitty *touch* yellow on me, it sinks right in to my skin and looks very natural once on. It's glowy but not dewey (which always reads as slick on my oily-leaning skin). BB Skin is what I wanted Diore Nude to be (and I hated that one). It basically …Read more
