Deodorants - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Baking Soda & Corn Starch

It actually, honest to goodness works like nothing else has for me.

Following advice from other reviewers, I mixed 3 parts cornstarch to 1 part baking soda, and smooshed in unrefined virgin coconut oil until it was a thick paste. Massaged a thin, but thorough, coating to my entire underarm area after a shower.

Superior odor control: you start out smelling a bit like …

Conditioner - Desert Essence - Fragrance Free Conditioner

It compensates for the dryness left by Desert Essence fragrance free shampoo (this conditioner is superior to the corresponding shampoo). I leave this to sit in my hair while I wash the rest of me or shave, and then rinse. And it doesn't irritate my skin or scalp, so that's another bonus.

Background: I have very sensitive, very dry skin, and with normal conditioner my chest …

Shampoo - Desert Essence - Fragrance Free Shampoo

3.0

Dec/30/2012

It's not the worst fragrance-free shampoo I've tried. Less drying than Free & Clear, and DHS. Still leaves my hair a little dryer than I'd like. Causes no irritation of my skin or scalp, so until I find something less drying, I'll buy this again.

Background: I have very sensitive, very dry skin, and with normal shampoo my chest gets itchy from the rinse …

Cleansers - CeraVe - Hydrating Cleanser

5.0

Dec/30/2012

This is tied with Aquanil for my favorite cleanser/body wash.

I don't wash my face everyday, and when I do, it's really quickly in the shower using the same wash I use on my body (my skin's crazy dry and sensitive, so this works better than it sounds).
With no fragrances, irritating essential oils, dyes or lathering agents, my skin is happy! Finally, almost no …

Cleansers - Unlisted Brand - Aquanil cleanser

This and CeraVe cleanser are my two favorites right now. This one skews a little drier than the CeraVe, so I'll probably use it more in the summer.

It doesn't have fragrance, dyes, or any irritating essential oils. No lather (which is actually a good sign). I have very dry, very sensitive skin, and this does the job without making my skin hurt or feel stripped. I use just …

Gels/ Soaps - Cetaphil - Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash

Dec/30/2012

This is one of the best body washes I've ever tried. It ended up not totally agreeing with my skin, but it's already a huge improvement over all the scented body washes out there. It has some wonderfully moisturizing ingredients, and no irritating essential oils, fragrances or dyes.

There is a little bit of lathering action, which may have been the culprit, so I've had …

Cleansers - Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash

Dec/30/2012

From the Acne Stress Control line, this and the 3-in-1 spot treatment are the shining stars.
Pros: nice scent, contains 2% salicylic acid, non-foaming, non-drying, tidy package, good price and easy to find. Feels soothing.
Cons: contains dyes and fragrances.

Definitely recommended to anyone who can tolerate fragrances and has normal or dry acne prone skin. I had to switch …

Shampoo - Unlisted Brand - DHS Clear Shampoo

I love that it doesn't contain fragrance, dyes or irritating essential oils, but that's about it. Much too drying for my hair. Might work for someone with oilier hair/scalp or who washes their hair less frequently.

very happy with this. I have sort of coarse, wavy (part curly part straight) rediculous hair which tends to frizz and pouf up, and this makes it look like it has some purpose in life. I refuse to blow dry my hair, so I just smoosh a good amount into my damp hair, comb it through with my fingers, let it air dry, and I wake up to better looking hair. doesn't get rid of frizz entirely, but …Read more
