Stick - CLINIQUE - Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick

Being an elderly (67) beauty product junky I have at least 5 foundation sticks. Clinique chubby is my favorite because the color matches me perfectly and it's creamy and blends easily on my dry skin. Honestly though I think I use it the most because I think its cute. I dab some on my cheeks, nose and chin and blend with a brush when I don't need a full face cover job. I also use it …Read more

Tinted Moisturizer - Dermalogica - sheer tint spf20

UGH ! Fortunately I tried a sample of the sheet tint with SPF 20. I have normal 65 year old, taken care of skin. The smell is awful and there is something (or many things) in it that make my face sting. Not tingle, sting. I have no allergies and am generally not sensitive, so this is bad. Though I own many tinted moisturizers, none smell or sting. Glad it was only a sample.

I have a vintage 1970s jade green bottle which I have been nursing along for a few years now. Bought opened on ebay, it still smells gorgeous. It is rich, earthy, spicy, floral and you either get it or never will. It seems strong at first (as with vintage Joy, a few dabs will do ya), but settles in to an expensive smelling fragrance. I live in Florida now and only use it in the Winter months …Read more

Liquid - Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation

I bought this in shade 5 which matched my skin ok. I have dry skin and tried it with and without a primer or moisturizer. I applied it with a thick special brush and it blended well and it was light on my skin, I didn't look like I was made up but then again I never got what I would call a luminous look either. It's an elegant foundation but was too matte for me. THEN I bought some …Read more

Treatments (Eye) - CLINIQUE - Superdefense Eye Cream spf 20 [DISCONTINUED]

I have thin, delicate skin under my eyes and have worn sun screen everyday for the past 15 years, but don't put it under my eyes. Everything is always too thick for the eye area so I have depended on big glasses and big hats. After using this for a month I wouldn't be without it. It is light enough to apply without pulling at my under eye area. I also put it on my upper eye area …Read more

Lip Treatments - Smith's Rosebud Salve - Rosebud Salve

4.0

Dec/19/2014

This stuff lasts forever, but the Smith's site gives it a shelf life of 30 months after opening. So I tossed my 3 year old tin today. I adore the packaging and scent. But it's basically Vaseline with rose water and color. Maybe I'll put my own stuff in the tin, which is the real reason I bought it in the first place. Being Vaseline it's good for soothing lips, cuticles …Read more

Polishes - OPI - Nail Lacquer - OPI Red

5.0

Nov/21/2014

This is one of my favorite red nail polish colors by any maker. I have lots of reds for the fall winter, but for a classic, Gwen Stefani red, this is the one. It doesn't lean to blue, brown or orange, it's just a perfect red. There's no glitter or frost or shimmer. But the OPI color has shine. I always add a couple coats of good sealer, I add a clear coat every other day and …Read more

Fragrances - Unlisted Brand - Heaven Sent- New Dana

3.0

Jul/11/2014

I loved this in the 1980s and bought the Dana version for a sentimental journey. Sad to report, it's not the same beautiful drugstore scent made by Helena Rubinstein. The new Dana version doesn't open as fresh and citrusy-floral as the original version. The dry-down is similar after awhile with that spicey, soapy, clean, baby powder scent that can be so soft and pretty. But the HR …Read more

i bought a small vintage ottle of perfume on ebay. I had never smelled it but read great reviews. It is astonishingly crafted. If this is green, then I love green perfume. This is rich, complex, and very sure of itself. It is not fruity, sweet, girly or anything cute. It smells earthy, warm, without spice. But it smells great. The edp is strong, so two small dabs will be plenty. I love …Read more

Fragrances - CHANEL - No 5 Sensual Elixir

5.0
Created with Sketch.

May/17/2014

I thought Chanel Chance edp was as good as it gets. then i got a Chanel No 5 Sensual elixer sample. It is to die for. I love the soft floral, supported by faint woody amber. It smells sophisticated, modern and classic. I am not familiar with No 5 so can't make any comparisons. But this perfume is gorgeous. Does Chanel make any bad scents? I'm trying to hone in on a signature …Read more
