I love this primer, though dropped a lippie because of the packaging. Someone's description below made me smile - yes, it really does 'fart out' the product sometimes. I have on occasions pressed the tube, nothing comes out, squeeze again and suddenly it squirts/farts out in unexpected directions. Sometimes I can't see where it has gone, and that's why I now have a few …Read more

Fragrances - Thierry Mugler - Alien Eau de Parfum

Feel as if I've bought a different Alien to everyone else. Most reviews here indicate that it's a strong, longlasting perfume. I bought it recently, having being attracted to the scent after smelling it in a shop and reading MUA reviews. But it does absolutely nothing on me. I spray on twice as much as any other perfume I have, and after a few minutes, it's as if I have no perfume …Read more

Makeup Brushes - BECCA - The One Perfecting Brush

I'm still getting used to this big brush. I don't think it's going to be the replacement for all other brushes, yet I am really glad I bought it, and feel sure I'll use it a lot. I don't think it's perfect for everything, for example, swiping loose powder over a liquidy, silicone type foundation (such as Bare Minerals/Escentuals), the powder seemed to stick to the …Read more

Makeup Brushes - GUERLAIN - Terracotta pinceau bronzer brush

The design is inspired - I fell in love with this brush just looking at it in the shop. It looks so attractive having reddish (terracotta) bristles, with fairly short handle, looks very classy, and comes in a nice velvety case with magnetic fastener. So very convenient to take on travels. However, for a blusher/bronzer brush, I prefer a brush with a bigger head and softer bristles. This is my …Read more

Makeup Brushes - Elizabeth Arden - Face Powder brush

My favourite brush. Brilliant for using with Arden's loose mineral powders, as it just fits over the area where you release the powder. Great for other powders and bronzers too. I agree with all the previous good reviews. You have to take care washing it, as it is denser than most make-up brushes and needs more soap/cleanser on it to get rid of the build-up in all the hairs. I have …Read more

BB Cream - Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

Surprised by the middling rating on this. I think it was the original BB cream before all the others took off, and I think it's still the best, or one of the best (haven't tried them all!). It may look a bit greasy on some skins. I always finish mine with some cream blush and then a light dusting of translucent powder.

I'm adding a review because several people remarked on the packaging, that it was too large (wide) and that the brush wasn't good. I disagree with that - I think the brush is great compared to most brushes that are included with compacts. The compact needs to be fairly wide in order to accommodate the brush. For me, it's worth it because I can use it when travelling and not have …Read more

Loose Powders - CHANEL - Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder

I thought the tub was too large at first, but that's a good thing because there's plenty room to dab the puff, or swirl your brush without the loose powder falling out over the edges - far less messier than previous loose powders I've had. It is pleasant to apply (I use the puff provided, finishing off with a powder brush) and it leaves my face feeling fresh and pampered (perhaps …Read more

Yes, it definitely works best with khaki/beige clothing and I put on a ring which has similar colours in it - looks great together. I've only tried it once so far and had trouble getting even coverage with two coats - I either need three or need to improve my brush skills! I don't think I will repurchase (tho may change my mind), as it's not really my usual colour and will only …Read more

Primer/ Corrector - Unlisted Brand - Bella Pierre HD MakeUp Primer

The best primer I've tried. It was recommended when I purchased the Bella Pierre mineral make up, but I resisted because it was so expensive and I had a few other primers already at home. However, eventually gave in, and I'm glad I purchased. It's so easy to apply - the consistency is perfect and it feels fresh and pleasant. I've reduced one lippie because it's so …Read more
