Treatments (Face) - Deciem - The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Borage Seed Oil

Borage seed oil's claim to fame is its unusually high concentration of gamma-linolenic oil, an essential fatty acid that has natural anti-inflammatory properties. This oil is nourishing, soothing, emollient, and protective. It is especially suitable for sensitive, dry, and/or irritated skin, including skin suffering from eczema or psoriasis.

The Ordinary's 100% Organic …

I don't want to rate this product too harshly since I knew there was a real risk it wouldn't work for my skin type, which is naturally very dry and dehydration prone. That said, my skin is pretty well balanced at this point, I enjoy gel textures and hydrating products with lots of humectants, and this is supposed to be appropriate for normal skin (I have a moisture meter and am …Read more

Mascara - L'Oreal Paris - Volumizing Collagen (Mascara)

Hands down, without a doubt, the WORST MASCARA I've ever used. No extra length, no volume, and my usual shade (Black-Brown) was weirdly light, so not even a nice tint. I get my eyelashes permed, so basically any mascara makes them look fabulous--this was a complete miss and I honestly don't understand how it made it onto the market. Tossed in the trash.

BB Cream - MISSHA - M Magic Cushion SPF50+/PA+++

Jul/13/2017

M Magic Cushion Moisture v. M Magic Cushion: The regular magic cushion is supposed to be better if your skin is normal or oily, while the moisture version is recommended for those with dry skin. My skin is naturally very dry (although my skincare routine normally keeps it pretty balanced) and dehydration-prone, so I opted for the latter. While I've never tried the regular, I am told that it …Read more

I actually enjoy putting this on my face --> for that reason alone, I REALLY REALLY wanted this to work. After two months use, I have to give up. My dealbreakers:

1. The protection is terrible. I use the recommended amount (two pumps) happily, but I ALWAYS end up with more color than I would expect. I'm pale and use sunscreen daily--this does not provide comparable protection …

Look, I'm childless, but I'm STOCKED UP on this stuff because it is FAB! Here's how I use it:
(1) Awesome on the bikini area after hair removal--soothes irritation and seems to prevent unsightly bumps/razor burn/redness. Spreads easily and absorbs quickly, has a light and silky feel, and is super gentle (and no fragrance!).
(2) Great to prevent inner thigh chafing on hot …

Masks - Ole Henriksen - Blue/Black Berry Enzyme Mask

TL;DR version: nice little hydrating and brightening boost, pretty gentle.

I buy masks for fun because I enjoy using them on the weekend and seeing instant (albeit temporary) effects, but I generally don't consider them an essential part of my skincare routine or use any particular mask on a regular basis. This product has changed all of that--used 3x a week, it provides gentle …

I have fine, strongly wavy/weakly curly hair that's color treated and pretty damaged. I bought this when I was looking for a hydrating treatment to use after a separate protein-heavy treatment. Honestly, it didn't make much of an impression on me the first few times I used it, but I'm now super impressed with it and want to have it on hand always. It is a fabulous hydrator that …Read more

Sunscreen - L'Oreal Paris - L'OREAL PARIS SUBLIME SUN SILKY SHEER SPF 30 LOTION

The good: really reliable sun protection--works better than a lot of other sunscreens that claim SPF values in the range of 30 to 50 (I'm sensitive to sunburn and a daily user of SPF, but I also love the sun and spend a fair amount of leisure time outdoors). The avobenzone in this formula should be stable and provide protection against UVA rays and not just UVB rays. I really like the …Read more

Lipstick - Pacifica - Power of Love lipstick -- Nudie Red

May/02/2017

I've tried 3 shades of this lipstick that I would consider pinky-brown, MLBB shades--tenderness, sweet one, and nudie red. First of all, I'm not generally a big fan of pinky-brown lipsticks; I prefer bright shades when I'm on my own time, but I work in a conservative office and need a little makeup to look put together. In general, these Pacifica lipsticks are great for office wear …Read more
