Moisturizers - CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer

As others have said, this is a bit of an odd product. I think it does work well as a moisturiser and it does mattify things a bit so makeup goes on well.

As I prefer using a combo moisturiser/spf product during the day, I only use this in a very specific instance. I live where it gets dark quite early in the winter and often get out of the gym/shower after dark. However, my day …

Treatments (Eye) - CLINIQUE - Superdefense Age Defense Eye Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 20

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/08/2018

I gave this 4 stars because it does work as a sunscreen for the eye area. But it is very very white and takes a bit to sink in. And is not as moisturising as other eye creams, so seems a bit of a one-trick-pony. The trick it does is very good, but I don't really need a single purpose eye sunscreen. Mostly only use it for travel to very sunny/glaring places - desert or snow, rather than using …Read more

Treatments (Face) - DHC - Renewing AHA Cream

3.0

I tried a bottle of this as I was curious about the lactic acid. I think it did make my skin softer, but I didn't notice much in the way of evening out tone or brightening. It does have a strong odor and it does sting, especially around my hairline, which probably meant I wasn't as diligent in my use as I should be. Texture sinks in well and bottle keeps everything air-tight. I …Read more

Treatments (Face) - First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

3.0

May/06/2018

I mostly used this as an antioxidant serum under other moisturiser/sunscreen. It is quite light as a moisturiser by itself and is not enough hydration for me. A clear gel, it does have a slightly tacky finish which was okay for me as I was layering under other items and it did not pill. In fact, my face feels a bit tight after this dries, which I don't like that much. I think like another …Read more

Conditioner - Charles Worthington - Moisture Seal Leave-in

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/07/2018

I had used another Worthington leave-in conditioner that I really liked, but couldn't find it anymore. So I got this version and it's not as good. The moisture seal version has a strong perfume-y scent and doesn't do much as far as detangling. It also gunks up near the tube opening with dried bits like rubber cement. Price is cheap enough and tube is handy packaging, but …Read more

Treatments (Eye) - CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream

2.0

Feb/23/2018

I use a couple other Cerave products like the night cream and have had no problems. I saw their eye cream and the price was right, so I thought I'd try it. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Certainly not enough to repurchase.

Tube packaging is nice. Odourless white cream that sinks in okay. Doesn't cause me irritation, but although the ingredients have …

Cleansers - Neutrogena - Naturals - Purifying Facial Cleanser

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Feb/21/2018

Had wanted to try this for a long time. Like the pump dispenser, easy to use in the shower. Doesn't have any strong scent as far a I can tell. Price is reasonable. But, won't repurchase because texture is a bit slimy and I feel I have to really rub to feel it's been rinsed off. Certainly does not foam at all for me, but maybe that's all the natural ingredients. No problems …Read more

Cleansers - Eucerin - Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Nov/02/2017

Pros: rinses squeaky clean, clear, odourless, non irritating, relatively cheap, handy tube packaging, possible brightening effect

Cons: gel formula is a bit slimy in feel (biggest drawback for me), the large opening in the tube means I inevitably squeeze out more product than I need

This product doesn't foam, which is fine, but seems to take off all my makeup (I wear …

Moisturizers - Drunk Elephant - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Nov/01/2017

I used a generous sample of this and generally like it. Clear, odourless gel that gives a quick boost of hydration. Feels nice going on. Packaged in an air-tight pump, so kudos for that. However, that "boost" disappears a few minutes later and I feel I need to add something more moisturising. So, although a nice, non-irritating product, it just isn't enough for my skin. A few …Read more

Lip Treatments - Chapstick - 3 in 1 Total Hydration

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Oct/19/2017

For straight up, non-tinted, non-gloss, stick lip balm, I prefer Chapstick Medicated - softer and not as waxy as original chapstick. But as I couldn't easily find it, I purchased the Total Hydration 3 in 1 in Soothing Oasis. While I generally liked it (fragrance and flavour free, nice click-closed tube), overall I found it to be lacking for a few reasons.

1. It was too soft and …
