Highlighters - BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Prismatic Amethyst

5.0

Prismatic Amethyst is a glorious product. Though honestly, I don't see it as a duo-chrome highlighter. It really is just a white silvery highlighter with a tint of lavender. It looks icy when swatched, with a ton of pink shimmer (very fine) laced through out. However, when actually on the cheeks, it definitely doesn't look lavender. It is mostly just a pink glow. It reminds me a lot of MAC Porcelain Pink Mineralize Skinfinish from ages ago. I think it looks beautiful on top of pink blushes! I love that it is subtle, yet different than other highlighters. It is the creamiest of all of the Becca highlighters I have. It feels like a cream and powder hybrid. When actually used as a highlighter on the cheekbones, it is extremely blendable. So even though it is very cool toned and …Read more

Highlighters - BECCA - Rose Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector

Sep/30/2016

This review is for the 2016 version of this product!

Becca just came out with this pink highlighter, and if I didn't check on here, I wouldn't have known there was an old version! Anyways I love this stuff so much. I was never quite into highlighters before, I buy them because of the hype. Currently from Becca I only have the Jaclyn Hill Palette, and I don't use it often, as I think it's a bit too shimmery and dramatic for everyday. But since the day I laid my hands on Rose Quartz, I have used it every single day! That really is quite record-breaking for me. It's so subtle, but gives your skin that gorgeous glow and wet look, without the massive shimmers. It is pink in the pan, but on my skin tone, I see a more cool golden sheen, and less of the …

Lips - Bite Beauty - Amuse Bouche Lipstick

I absolutely love these lipsticks. They came out for a while now, and I didn't think I needed another lipstick, nor did I want to hand over $30 for another lipstick. But I couldn't handle the hype...I am now in procession of the new The Perfect Bite holiday lip set, and it has 4 mini abuse bouche lipsticks inside. The colours are Fig, Pepper, Honeycomb, and Nori. The colours are so wearable. But what really got me is the texture, the pigmentation, the staying power and the scent. This stuff is so creamy, but it does not slip off! It is thick but somehow matte and moisturizing. They are very very pigmented, I can get the colour with just one swipe of the lipstick. The staying power is unbelievable, I was able to go 5 hours on without touching up, and I felt sad because I …Read more

Eye Shadow - Too Faced - Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette

5.0

Dec/27/2015

First I would like to say that I used all three Chocolate Palettes before, and this one by far is my favourite. I love it mostly for the fact that it has a nice combination of finishes and textures, while providing also, a nice combination of colours together with the neutral theme. This means that now when I travel, I only need to bring this one palette around with me.

The packaging is of course, super cute. It is baby pink in colour, and all the eyeshadows in the palette are heart shaped, with the exception of Satin Sheets and Divinity. The eyeshadows smell like chocolate, similar to their chocolate bronzers. In this palette, most of the colours are neutral. The big rectangular shade on the top of the palette is Satin Sheets from the previous Too Faced Naked Eyes palette …

Hair Color - L'Oreal Paris - Feria Haircolor

5.0

Nov/21/2015

I have dyed my hair at home by myself for years, and having tried many brands of hair dyes, and different kinds within the same brands too. So far, in the L'Oreal range, Feria's gotta be the best. Now I only use hair dyes to lighten my natural hair colour, which is a dark black brown. I always aim for a warm light brown hair colour, and currently, what's working for me is the Feria Light Beige Blonde #91.

The reason why I say the Feria is the best among the L'Oreal hair dyes is the fact that a. it smells way nicer than anything else with in L'Oreal (of course there are other brands of hair dyes that smell way nicer than Feria, but within L'Oreal, Feria smells the least offensive); b. it is the strongest dye in terms of effectiveness compared …

Eye Shadow - MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Palette #1 - Nudes You Need

This palette is in general quite good, great value. The packaging is a bit sloppy, but it does come with a magnetic close, which is nice. But I can imagine it could easily pop open in my purse. It has colours from both cool and warm spectrums. 8 out of these colours are shimmery, the black one at the lower left corner is matte. These has a very unique consistency. They do have a cream + powder hybrid texture, however, I feel like they are a bit chunky going onto the eye. Luckily they blend out nicely, no chunky or glittery fallouts. Once blended out, these have beautiful shine and gorgeous finishes. They can help you achieve both subtle daytime looks, and also really intensive nighttime looks. The pigmentation is not something like the UD eyeshadows, but slightly more sheer and …Read more

Lips - Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain (All Shades)

5.0

Jun/16/2015

This is a review of the new Pop Water collection of glossy stains, with a little comparison compared to the original. I loved the original, except the fact that they were very drying on me, especially if I wear them for consecutive days. The new Pop Water version is much much better. The colours are amazing, they are very summer appropriate bright colours, each with a watery shiny finish without shimmer or crazy plastic shine. They are much more creamier now than before, and feels more like a liquid lipstick on the lips, whereas the original felt like a thin layer of plastic on the lips. They remove better too, and similar to the original, they leave a nice stain behind. I have the colours 206 Misty Pink and 207 Juicy Peach, both are very pigment, super smooth, and very hydrating. They …Read more

Hair Color - L'Oreal Paris - Excellence Creme

I have naturally very dark brown Asian hair to begin with, and I have used this product for about 2 years now. After going after a variety of blonds in the range to lighten my dark hair, I have finally settled for the Natural Copper Blonde B04. This colour gives me a nice medium warm brown colour to my hair, and does significantly lighten my hair. In order for this to work, I usually need to wait for over an hour. Otherwise the colour will not show much at all. But when I do have the patience to leave it on for a long time, it gives me the colour I want.

The colour stays on very nicely, without being washed away quickly. I find the red tone sticks with me until about 3 months after, when my hair will become a little brassy, but in general still has a nice reddish copper …

Hair Styling Tools - T3 - Single Pass Styling Iron

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Feb/08/2015

I purchased this one from Sephora for $192 CAD. I believe it is $160 in US. I am not someone that is used to more expensive hair tools, so I cannot compare this to other straightening irons sold in Sephora. However, this is a huge leap from my usual Conair hair straightener. The main gripe I had with the cheaper ones I used to have, is that they drag on my hair as I pull it through, and when I try to curl my hair with those flat irons, other than dragging on my hair, they also seems to be not clamped onto my hair securely, and bits of hair will slip out as I twist the iron around. It is very annoying, and I would not want to go back to those, as it was very time consuming to do everything. This one however, glides through hair like butter! It also grabs onto hair securely without …Read more

Palettes - Too Faced - Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette

4.0

Jan/13/2015

This is another great palette from Too Faced. The packaging is gorgeous as always, it is made in the shape of a giant piece of chocolate, nice and sturdy. This metal case is quite different from the original chocolate palette. It is thinner, and has a magnetized closing. The closing is not as secure as I would like. The Palette could easily pop open if rattled in a bag.

It is nice to see that Too Faced finally decided to put different finishes of eyeshadows into one palette. And this palette leans warm, but still has some cooler taupes and greys in there.

Mattes:
Licorice, Coconut Creme, Nougat, Truffled, Puddin', Peanut Butter, Mousse

Shimmers:
Hot Fudge, Cocoa Chili, Blueberry Swirl, Frosting, Rum Raisin, Caramel, Bon Bon, Butter …
