Personally I only have positive experiences with Hustle Butter Deluxe. I bought it at the tattoo studio where I was getting my arm tattooed (Parliament Tattoo) because I had travelled to London and didn't have any at home either. I had used Bepanthen for most of my other tattoos, and it had worked fine, plus is a cheap buy.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed using Hustle Butter. Sure …

Blush - BECCA - Mineral Blush

Great blush! Excellent staying power, even after long hours out and about in the summer - although I do at times use a setting spray, so that probably boosts its longevity. I bought the shade 'Flowerchild', which suits my skin tone well. It is quite pigmented though, so it is easy to get heavy-handed and end up looking like some bourgie from 18th century France. A light application does …Read more

Cleansers - Oskia - Perfect Cleanser

While this is an alright cleanser, I would by no means call it "perfect". In fact, that is a bit cocky for a product that contains both fragrance and alcohol. I have sensitive skin and am trying to be more conscious of what ingredients are in my skincare products, but even for those who are luckier than I and don't have finicky skin, I would avoid those two ingredients if I could …Read more

Cleansers - Unlisted Brand - Su-Man Purifying Cleansing Gel-Oil

Overall, this cleanser has a lot going for it. It has lots of really great anti-aging ingredients, lots of great oils, and is generally good at its job. It cleans out the pores quite well, and is decent at taking off makeup (although, if wearing a lot of eye makeup and/or waterproof mascara, I would use a separate makeup remover for that). Using it is a bit of a process - there is a YouTube video …Read more

Mascara - Isehan - Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl and Super Waterproof Mascara

First things first: Holy smokes, is it hard to take off this mascara! The advantage of this is that it does not smudge during the day, which, when living in a humid environment, is a common complaint. However, I am one of those people who find it impossible to apply mascara without getting some on my eyelid (probably because my lashes are so damn pale). So, already, getting those stains off is …Read more

Treatments (Face) - La Roche-Posay - Effaclar Duo+ Unifiant

This product walks the fine line between treatment and BB cream. It follows in the steps of the original Effaclar Duo, which is meant to reduce visible imperfections, spots included. By adding colour to the mix, it can be used as a BB cream, which is what I primarily bought it for.

It was initially recommended by my dermatologist, who wanted me to take a break from heavier foundations …

Primer/ Corrector - NARS Cosmetics - Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer

I almost feel sorry for being a party-pooper, but this primer was average at best for me. I don't deny that it's good for a dewy finish, so if that's your aim go for it. However, it didn't make my foundation last longer, and in combination with the NARS radiant creamy concealer was a minor disaster in the summer! Likely because I am a bit oilier in the summer due to heat and …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Derma E - Vitamin E Intensive Therapy Body Lotion

Probably the best body lotion I have used in a while. Not only is it free of parabens (which I am allergic to) and cruelty-free, but it actually does its job! It is not too liquidy, so takes a little bit of rubbing in, but it settles quickly and does not leave any sticky/greasy residue. Beauty ads like to use the expression "skin is visibly...", and for the most part it's BS, but …Read more

As someone who has "dry parched skin", I am rather disappointed because this cream did diddly-squat for my skin. I tried using it in both summer and winter, with no benefits in sight. I am sure that for someone who has normal skin this cream would be a better option than it is for me, but perhaps for those who have seriously dehydrated skin: Avoid.

Since it's not doing …

Scrubs - Derma E - Essentials Microdermabrasion Scrub

I moved on to this scrub after discovering an allergy to parabens and therefore having to abandon my trusty Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. In many ways these two scrubs are very similar: a little goes a long way so the product lasts for a while, the granules are very fine, and they both do a good job of getting rid of dead skin and scrubbing away dry flakes. However, I prefer the derma e scrub …Read more
