Lips - Unlisted Brand - TONYMOLY TONYMOLY Tony Tint 02 Red Apple

Eek. I bought this because it looked beautiful in the tube (super-dark true red) and because I'd heard people speak really positively about Tony Moly lip tints. It turns out I hate this lip tint, though. Here's why:

- It is impossible to apply evenly. The doe-foot applicator is pretty big, and the tint is very watery. I usually try to make a small gradient lip accent with …

Polishes - REVLON - Parfumerie China Flower

5.0

Jan/29/2015

This is a VERY bright and glossy color that you can see from miles away. I bought it thinking it would be a strawberry color (reddened pink), but on my skin (~NW 10) it comes across as a deep coral -- it reminds me a bit of Revlon Fire & Ice. Like F&I, it's insanely vivid without being neon and has a '50s feel.

The smell is much cooler than the name "China …

Sunscreen - LANEIGE - Sunblock Triple SPF40 PA++

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Jan/11/2015

First of all, I bought this for a gazillion dollars at an AmorePacific store in NYC before realizing you could just buy Laneige products for cheap at Target nowadays. So, uh, buy it at Target.

This is a really great sunscreen. However, it does have some weird aspects... The smell is plasticky and sort of powdery, like that new baby doll smell, and there are very obvious glitter …

Lotions/ Creams - La Roche-Posay - Lipikar Baum (Balm) AP

5.0

Jan/11/2015

I use Lipikar balm as a facial moisturizer and as a spot treatment for areas on my body where I have eczema/irritation. This is the only moisturizer I'm using on my face right now and my skin has improved so much. Usually my very dry skin will drink up whatever I put on it and will be dry and irritated again as soon as I wash off whatever cream/balm I have on. This is the first time I feel …Read more

Moisturizers - La Roche-Posay - Toleriane Ultra Soothing Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Jan/11/2015

I have pretty nice skin, generally, but it often looks like I have way more skin problems than I do because I'm so red -- my skin is thin, sensitive and very fair so all redness shows up clearly. This product makes a visible difference in soothing my skin. This is also one of the first treatment products I've ever found to be immediately effective, which is a huge plus... From the first …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Kiss My Face - Honey & Calendula Moisturizer

4.0

First of all -- this smells EXACTLY like the Nuxe Rêve du miel line, which I love but my skin kind of hates.

Unfortunately, the smell from the Kiss My Face doesn't linger long on the skin. I have very dry skin and I found this surprisingly moisturizing, though -- my skin does seem soft and not at all flaky at the end of the day.

Foundations - IOPE - Air Cushion Sunblock Ex-Cover SPF 50

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Oct/12/2014

This base makes my skin the prettiest it's ever been -- like perfect angel skin. I have very dry skin but this applies smoothly, and it evens out most of my redness. I layer in areas where I'm especially pink or where I have a blemish, and it's enough camouflage for everyday wear. It gives a super-glowy effect, especially on cheekbones. The only con I can think of is that it …Read more

BB Cream - The Face Shop - Color Control CC Cream

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/09/2014

This CC cream has a beautiful semi-matte finish (or is at least much less dewy than most Korean base products I've used) and stays that way all day. My only real problem with it is transferring. I wear glasses, and the base on my nose is constantly getting mussed up. I also turn my phone totally beige if I use it while wearing this. It generally feels like it never really "sinks …Read more

Hair Color - L'Oreal Paris - Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Jul/26/2014

I used this after accidentally dyeing my hair pewter grey. My underlying color was bleach blonde. This worked extremely fast; I was back to a level 10 from a dark dark grey in 5 minutes!

My only caveat is that this spreads like a powder based bleach -- you have to sort of smash it in rather than running it through. I hate this texture, as I think it creates damage. It's probably …
