I don't know. I've had this for a few months and I would describe the effect as inconsistent. At first, it worked well, although the volume seemed to be gone after a few hours unless I used additional products. Then it stopped working. And then it worked again. For a bit. I still haven't figured out what's the issue - might be building up in my hair, might depend on the …Read more
I rarely buy expensive makeup on a whim without consulting the internet first, but this time I'm very glad I did. This baby works! It looks nice and natural on ash brown eyebrows, has the right hard-yet-comfortable texture, stays on and can be used on its own or as a touch-up tool. Definitely a good investment and so far the best brow pencil I've tried.
I also love that it …Read more
Cakefest! Ok, it's not catastrophic, but this certainly isn't a good concealer for my under-eye area. It's sticky and it pretty much cakes up and sets into fine lines right from the start. I appreciate the coverage and staying power, but if it doesn't look nice, it has no reason to hang around for hours.
Like many others I chose the shade Vanilla ('cause …Read more
Blush - Illamasqua - Katie
On me, Katie is a pale marshmallow pink and gives my skin that nice porcelain effect. I expected the colour to be even lighter, but it doesn't matter, I love it as it is and for most skintones it will be really pale anyway.
The texture is wonderfully smooth and I don't really have a problem with fallout - I don't swipe the brush across the pan, I just gently press it and …Read more
So far the only Illamasqua product that disappointed me.
I'd been using plain old eyedrops for the same purpose and wanted to see if this would work better. Well, it doesn't. In fact, it's slightly worse, doesn't mix as well with most of my eyeshadows and forms a crust, which is a problem I haven't had with the eyedrops. Overall I find it very overpriced and …Read more
I originally bought this for powder. However, since the bristles are synthetic, I thought I'd try how it works with creams and liquids - and it turns out to be a quick and effective way to apply my liquid foundation. It's soft, big and makes the whole process easier.
I use it in a sort of brisk sweeping motion, downwords and out (basically you don't want to go against …Read more
Not only do I think a high-end brand could sell this in a posher packaging and with a more sophisticated scent, I actually strongly suspect it's already happening (Guerlain, dear, are you listening?) After all, neither cheap nor expensive brands really make their products, they order them from the same suppliers.
Anyway, the ditzy smell of mock vanilla ice cream and the …Read more
Having visibly thin dark hair, I'm genuinely grateful that this stuff exists. It makes my hair look thicker and it actually smells good, quite unlike most other dry shampoos (including the original Batiste). It's almost an ambery scent.
I spray it slightly above my roots, not quite straight onto my scalp, because then it gets itchy. When it darkens, I brush my hair with a …Read more
Colourful eye makeup doesn't really suit me, so I wanted to try a bright lip, and this lipstick is proving to be an excellent choice. The very flattering shade could be described as "hot pink meets coral". It creates a gorgeous contrast with my dark hair, looks great against fair AND tanned skin and doesn't make my teeth look yellow.
The product lasts quite long …Read more
