Cleansers - A-Derma - Soap-Free Dermatological Bar with Oat Milk

I try to use bar soaps whenever possible to reduce waste, and I’m so glad I came across this bar. I was looking for a gentle cleanser to replace my Fresh Soy Cleanser, which is amazing but also incredibly overpriced. The Aderma Cleansing Bar is soap free, the right PH, incredibly affordable, gentle and yet leaves my very oily and acne prone skin feeling clean and not stripped, which I’ve found is …Read more

Hair - Bumble and bumble - Pret a Powder

I have a pretty oily scalp, so dry shampoo is a staple for me. I stick with mostly non-aerosol types because it lasts longer and therefore ultimately cheaper in the long run, and there’s less waste!

Even though my wallet disagrees, my hair seems to love Bumble and Bumble products, it works like magic on my hair. This was almost HG for me, but not quite. Visually, it’s works perfectly! …

Blush - Tarte Cosmetics - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush - Paaarty

I was surprised by how much I liked this. I received the mini in the Sephora birthday gift and immediately thought this was going to be way too light and cool on my NC35 skin. That did turn out to be true, but only if I applied it too heavily. If applied with a light hand, it actually has a very nice, natural, brightening blush look. I use it alone when I want a more natural, my face but better …Read more

Styling Products - Bumble and bumble - Don't Blow It (H)Air Styler

Bumble and Bumble hair products just seem to work like magic on my hair, and there’s very few I’ve tried that I didn’t like.

For starters, I have thick, relatively healthy and uncoloured hair that is prone to an oily and itchy scalp. I love this product, it sinks right into my damp hair and I can feel it working straight away. My hair feels softer and smoother, and takes less time to …

Masks - innisfree - Pore Clearing Clay Mousse Mask with Super Volcanic Cluster

5 stars all across the board for this one. I’m a huge fan of the original jar version (my HG mask), so I couldn’t resist trying this.

Same as with the original, this mask is fantastic with acne and oil control. This clay mask is effective from mild acne to blackheads to cystic acne. Sometimes I even use it as a spot treatment overnight whenever I feel a particularly large cystic acne …

Treatments (Face) - InstaNatural - Vitamin C Serum

I was new to vitamin c so I wanted to try something that was mild and affordable, and decided to get this since it was available on iherb and seemed to have great reviews.

On the plus side, I did feel like my skin was slightly more hydrated and there was absolutely no irritation, despite my newness to vitamin c. It was easy to apply and felt very comfortable since it sinks right in and …

Styling Products - Bumble and bumble - Surf infusion

I’m a huge fan of the original Surf Spray and have repurchased many times. I use it to create volume and waves in my hair, so I couldn’t resist trying out the Surf Infusion. Surf Infusion is definitely a more moisturizing version that’s better at detangling and smoothing, but has far less hold than the original.

It’s a lovely product no doubt, but it’s not particularly suited for my hair …

Dry Shampoo - Unlisted Brand - Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo

This was so close to being a HG dry shampoo for me! Unfortunately, it fell short because it just wasn’t oil absorbing enough. I have relatively healthy hair that’s prone to an itchy and oily scalp, so I use dry shampoo pretty much every other day. I always go for non-aerosol dry shampoos simply because they are way cheaper in the long run.

In the morning when I apply it, I use the usual …

Conditioner - Love Beauty and Planet - Coconut Water & Mimosa Conditioner

I think this is just a very average conditioner. To start, I have relatively healthy, thick hair that’s prone to an oily scalp, and frizziness due to the humid climate I live in. I was looking for a more lightweight conditioner to alternate with another heavy duty conditioner, and decided to get this. Sadly, It doesn't really do anything for my hair, it’s not particularly volumising …Read more

Sunscreen - Supergoop! - Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50

I am not a fan of this sunscreen for a few reasons. First off, the texture. When tested on my hand, it felt fine but when applied on my face, I found it doesn’t really fully sink in or dry down. It remains slightly tacky on the skin and there’s a visible sheen on my face as well. As someone with an already very oily and acne prone face, the last thing I want is my skin to look and feel oily …Read more
