This is a classic case of "excellent concept but poor execution". I rarely buy products on a whim, but this seemed liked such a great product that I took the risk. In this case, it did not pay off. I am redhead, so I chose the color auburn. It was not auburn. It was a weird ashy, not quite taupe but not quite brown color, that was far too cool. As a result, it was incredibly …Read more

I live in GA. It's cold right now, and we're just not used to it. My hands are chapped, my hair is like straw, my incredibly oily face is positively parched, the skin on my body is absolutely reptilian and my lips??? Oy. Flaky, scabby mess. It doesn't seem to matter how much water I guzzle or how liberally I slather myself with lotion and potion.

I grabbed this …

I was really excited to find an affordable and accessible color corrector that I *thought* was going to be similar to Bobby Brown or Eve Pearl. But this was absolutely nothing like those products. It was completely useless. I'll just echo everything the person below me said, as I would have said exactly the same things. And, as a 44 year old woman, I will tell you that this is the last thing …Read more

Liquid - RIMMEL - Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

Eh. Not awful, but not fabulous. The price is terrific, and the color match (Ivory 100) is one of the best I've ever had from a drugstore foundation. Also, the oil control is exceptionally good. For those reasons, I can make it work.

But I definitely don't categorize this as Holy Grail status for the following reasons:

The formula is very dry and …

UGH. I don't know why I continue to experiment when I know that the L'Oreal Telescopic (classic gold tube, not the newer "shocking" formula) is perfect for my needs. I'll admit it, the brush got me. I really wanted it to be as revolutionary as it looked. It's not.

First I'll start with the formula. Dry, flaky, stiff, brittle... YUCK. I have …

Concealers - COVERGIRL - Olay Eye Rehab

I am a big fan of the Cover Girl Simply Ageless Tone Rehab Foundation (with white swirl) so I was excited to try this. I have substantial dark circles, so I've always used the most havy duty concealer I can find. But because I have some fine lines starting, I've realized I need something a little lighter, as the heavy, opaque, long wearing concealers tend to exacerbate those issues. I …Read more

Concealers - MAC Cosmetics - Pro Longwear Concealer

Jul/23/2013

Because I have very pronounced hereditary dark circles that are not diminished by sleep or environmental factors, I consider myself an expert on concealers, both low end and high end. I've tried 'em all. For many years, any ole thing would do the job, as long as it was opaque enough. But, now that I'm 44 and am developing fine lines, I'm finding it incredibly challenging to …Read more

I LOVE this product, despite the fact that I cannot wear it anywhere near my eyes.

I am 44, and though I look pretty darn good, I do have fine lines beneath my eyes and some crepiness on my eyelids. Most of the time, it's very minimal. But this realy magnifies those issues. No matter how lightly I apply, it makes my under eye area look crepey and dry and yes...old …

I am a pale skinned redhead with green eyes. I really cannot do nudes or I look like a corpose. And, in my not so humble opinion, lips and skin are SUPPOSED to be different colors. That said, I do need a pretty, natural color that I can wear for daytime and more casual looks. That's harder than you might think, because although I am pale, my complection is very warm, with sallow undertones …Read more
