Blush - Elizabeth Arden - Beautiful Color Radiance Blush - Sunblush

Years ago, when Nars first came out with Orgasm, I ran to Saks to try it. After all, it was supposed to be the color for everyone, not too cool or warm or peach or pink. Good for day or night. The truth was that on my very fair skin it was shimmer first, color second. Not for work, definitely not for all time. I passed.
Then for years I suffered through wiping off blush as soon as I applied …

Top/Base Coats - Unlisted Brand - Jessica - Rejuvenation

I'm about to buy my 2nd bottle. After years of using and loving Reward, my dry nails needed something different. I tried Rejvenation and am very pleased. My manicures generally last a week and polish doesn't peel off. I think base coat is a very personal choice and you have to find the one that works for you. That said, I can recommend Rejuvenation as one worth trying.

Liquid - CLINIQUE - Even Better Refresh Hydrating and Repairing Makeup

I am very impressed by this foundation. I was prepared to pay over $80 for one by Dior, then decided on a whim to try this. I am so glad I did. First, the shade range is fabulous. I stopped wearing Clinique foundation decades ago, when I couldn't fine a match for my cool-toned, very fair skin. A shame, because my skin is also sensitive, and a line like Clinique's is better for me. The …Read more

Lipstick - CLINIQUE - Even Better Pop Lip Color Foundation

After a long, hard search for a new foundation I settled on Clinique Even Better. It matches my very fair skin (CN10 Alabaster). I saw the new lipsticks at eh counter and decided to try the naked one, not the exact one (I thought it was too warm for my cool skin) but Romanced, recommended for the skin tones near mine as the "naked" color. It's a nice light rose, not too pink or too …Read more

Polishes - ZOYA - Professional Lacquer - Dream

I have never used a dark blue polish but I had to try this one. What a beauty! As if the stone lapis lazuli married Zoya Leia.

Application was similar to Leia, just smooth, gliding on. Opacity in 2 coats. I used a top coat to seal the glitter as some have recommended. Drying time seems average. I'll update as to longevity.

I think Zoya prices are OK (not too expensive about …

Polishes - ZOYA - Professional Lacquer - Eleni

This is a new color for summer 2019. Eleni is described as seafoam blue, but I would call it robin's egg or the color of a Tiffany's box. In any event, it is a lovely blue, bit deeper than pastel, not quite turquoise, with a green tint to it. On my fair, cool skin it looks good (I know this color palette suits me). It's a typical thin Zoya cream formula. It went on streaky for the …Read more

Polishes - ZOYA - Professional Lacquer - Genesis

This is a lovely semi-sheer sparkling white color, like moonlight on snow. A lot of nail bloggers complained about the streaky formula but I only found the 1st coat to be slightly streaky. The 2nd coat went on just fine. I found the formula a bit thin but not so much that it pooled in the cuticles. I happen to like slightly sheer colors and don't mind if my nail line shows a little. The wear …Read more

I was a huge Glosser fan until it ruined a manicure with a new Zoya polish (Genesis, if anyone wants to know). Previously, Glosser was great with all my polishes: Zoya, OPI, Essie. But with Genesis, my manicure looked like someone had gouged my nails with a sharp implement after everything dried. Weird as anything, never saw the like. Not shrinkage, just gouges all over the nails.

So …

Cleansers - Pond's - Cold Cream Makeup Remover Deep Cleanser

Sep/23/2018

I've been a CeraVe user for years. At $13 a bottle, it's not terribly expensive, but sometimes, in the dead of winter's polar vortex, it feels too harsh to my super-dry, super-sensitive skin. So today, at my favorite discount store, the husband and I were checking out, and there was a display for Pond's on sale, $1.99 a jar. (and with my coupon, $1.60 for the jar). Heck, for …Read more

This review is for the vintage version, not the reformulated Sublime version.

I loved, loved, LOVED this when it first came out. And I love it still.

I adore green aldehydic fragrances with some floral notes. My all-time favorite is Arpege and this ranks up there. I bought a bottle 2 months ago and then a second bottle (3.4 oz size, each one) today, just to be safe (I have a …
