Skincare - Face - Avene - Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion

This cleanser is great for when my skin barrier goes wonky or I have a rosacea flare. It is like washing with a moisturiser, so don’t expect that squeaky clean feeling. My face was left feeling very soft, but not covered in a film like some hydrating cleansers.
I agree with some of the other reviews, it’s not a great make up remover if you use foundation - but it removes SPF well enough. Did …

Cleansers - BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Micellar Cleansing Water and Makeup Remover Solution

This is great for my sensitive/rosacea/acne skin. It doesn’t sting my overly sensitive eyes (like many other micellar waters) and more importantly it doesn’t leave a residue. I personally only use this at night and always follow up with a proper cleanser, but I would happy use this in a pinch if I had no access to water. I had put off trying this due to the cost, but having tried several micellar …Read more

I bought and used this last winter as a moisturiser/spf. I usually avoid both fragrance and silicones, and this contains both, but at the time I enjoyed using it. It didn’t sting or break me out and my skin was in relatively good condition, although when the really cold weather hit and I ramped up my moisturiser this didn’t layer as well (which is my main beef with silicones - they just pill) …Read more

I usually avoid Vichy because of the fragrance but this is pleasantly fragrance free and void of other irritating ingredients. I’m still on the fence about Hyaluronic acid products and whether they actually do anything. I’ve tried quite a few and after using up the entire bottle of this, I’m still not sure. However, it didn’t make me greasy or break me out which is a bonus. Stickiness is a …Read more

Cleansers - La Roche-Posay - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser

I really wanted to like this as it’s simple and meant to be non irritating, but it can really sting - especially my eyes area. I even tested it against the dermo cleanser by putting both on a cotton pad and applying to each eye.. and there is definitely something in this that burns (even if I wet my face first).
It doesn’t dry the skin out or cause breakouts and it doesn’t leave a residue …

I like this moisturiser a lot. It is very simple and with continuous use appears to have balanced my skin in terms off hydration. I am no longer greasy at lunchtime, nor do I wake up greasy. However, it isn’t enough for me in the cooler months and I need to go a bit heavier. I have been taking very low dose Roaccutane for 12 months now and now have normal skin in terms of oiliness but it’s very …Read more

I am loathed to give LRP a negative review, as their products are usually a safe bet for my sensitive skin. However, this irritated the hell out of my eyes and I do not see how it can be suitable for those with sensitive skin and rosacea. Just no. I have trialled it on and off all week and every time I use it my eyes burn immediately. Tonight I used it as a first cleanse and purposely followed it …Read more

I have acne and rosacea and am currently taking low dose Roaccutane, as well as using prescription azelaic acid. I also have the most allergic sensitive skin ever, and have to use as few products as possible. I decided to try this cleanser after suffering a contact dermatitis to Aveeno - and use it on a night. It doesn’t quite remove all makeup, hence the 4/5 rating, but it is very gentle and …Read more

Moisturizers - Avene - Skin Recovery Cream

I am really surprised my this, I love the finish it gives my rosacea prone allergic skin. I had been using the Tolerance Riche (which contains safflower oil), and although it is another basic no nonsense moisturiser - it can be a little shiny under my SPF and I had a couple of dry patches crop up during the recent cold spell.
I expected the recovery cream to be richer but it isn’t, it …
