I really teetered between giving beautypedia.com a 3 star review & a 4 star review. If I could give it a 3.5 rating, I would probably go with that. On one hand, beautypedia has been life-changing for me from an informational standpoint; but on the other, some of her advice and recommendations are contradictory and questionable at best- which is frustrating. Yet and still, I would recommend …Read more

I have acne prone skin, and it's all over the internet that raw, unrefined Shea Butter is completely non-comedogenic. The same is said for: argan oil, but I'm not sure "who" made these determinations since neither of these substances were included in the original "rabbit ear" experiment that determined the comedogenicity of cosmetic ingredients …Read more

My hormonal acne is a mysterious, enigmatic creature that I still struggle to understand. I'm always reluctant to say a specific product "caused" me to break out because: a. acne seems highly random, and b. in my mind, I always think the pimple I see today, probably started forming like 2 weeks ago? Who knows.

To give some history, I've used prescription retinoids- …

First and foremost, I love, love, LOVE Cerave products, but I have yet to find a lotion with sunscreen of ANY brand that turns me on. I thought if anyone could bring it, it would be Cerave- but this didn't work so well for me. I don't think this sunscreen is a good look for combination skin because it's not super moisturizing. It also made my skin super oily- like most sunscreens …Read more

I would NOT recommend this product to anyone who uses acne medications/treatments AND/OR has dry skin AND/OR has sensitive skin! This product is one of very few I found that is "truly" non-comedogenic, and I thought this would be a gentle make-up/residue remover that wouldn't dry out my skin. Spoiler alert: it dried out my skin something awful! As soon as I put it on my face it …Read more

There are a few Neutrogena products I absolutely love and cannot live without- but my experiences with Neutrogena in general are like a roller coaster! Either the products are outstanding, completely useless, or scary bad. But I still think Neutrogena is one of the better skincare brands you can find virtually anywhere- and I WANT to like their products because the prices are reasonable, and the …Read more

I can literally say I've been using A&D all my life since it's what my mother used on my sensitive skin as a baby! It works great for me for body rashes & dryness. I started using religiously in my 20's after my skin got really dry due to taking high (daily) doses of antihistamines. After my shower I mix like 1/4 A&D with 3/4 Aveeno baby Lavender & Vanilla lotion …Read more

I've been using Prescriptives make-up for 14+ years after a very good dermatologist recommended their products for acne-prone folks (like myself). I feel "safe" using Prescriptives products because they do not seem to cause or contribute to my acne. I can say that with certainty because I've gone long cycles (months) where I haven't worn any makeup- and my acne isn't …Read more

I've been using Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser as my go-to make-up remover for 14+ years. I find it to be EXTREMELY effective as a make-up remover and it's VERY gentle on my face. It's the only product I've ever used that's able to completely remove waterproof mascara. It never stings or burns, and it doesn't moisturize my skin- but it doesn't dry it out …Read more

Cleansers - CeraVe - Hydrating Cleanser

Full disclosure: I'm currently obsessed with CeraVe products after swapping out all my Cetaphil products for CeraVe! I've had acne for 14+ years and use prescription and over the counter medications to treat. My skin is extremely oily and extremely dry at the same time. Some parts of my face- specifically my cheeks, under my eyes, and upper lip area- are very sensitive. Other parts- …Read more
