Welp. Another over-hyped, under-performing product, whose praise is totally unmerited. Granted, it’s not bad, per say, but it’s not great either, and it’s certainly not worth all of the buzz it receives. The only reason that I believe it gets all of the hype that it does, is because it IS a fairly versatile product (meaning, it’s so basic and no-frills that it works on most skin types), and it …Read more

I say this in just about all of my reviews as of late, but I think it’s important in this case; I am a new sufferer of dry skin (well, in on my cheeks and chin at least). You know, tight, flaky, uncomfortable skin, laden with literal rough patches. It’s lovely. I had tried just about everything under the sun (generally in the context of slathering heavy creams and oils on my face), but nothing …Read more

This is such a perfect setting powder! As I get older, I notice my skin becoming drier; an issue that is only exacerbated by the harsh Canadian winters that seem to last literally half of the year in good old Nova Scotia. Because of this, I made the decision a few months back to forgo my heavier powders of yesteryear, and instead seek out something virtually weightless that sets makeup, doesn’t …Read more

Annabelle is such an overlooked brand, but they really do make many lovely products. I started using this for two reasons: I was in the process of phasing animal-tested products out of my routine, so I stopped buying my previous HG, L’Oreal Voluminous (Annabelle is cruelty free, yay!), and the reviews on MakeupAlley were so awesome. I am not disappointed, this mascara is better than any I’ve ever …Read more

Lip Liners - NYX Professional Makeup - Slim Lip Pencil (All Colors)

From a price in comparison with quality perspective, these lip liners are the best on the market, in my opinion. I originally began buying them because I loved playing with different lipstick colors, but couldn’t really justify shelling out tons of money on liners from MAC or Sephora to compliment them. These work just as good as any high end lip pencil, for a fraction of the price (I pay under …Read more

Yeah, no. I’m not really sure I “get” this product or what it’s supposed to do, exactly. On Sephora’s site, it claims to be hydrating, as well as great for toning the skin, reducing redness, and minimizing the appearance of large pores. I didn’t notice any of this. It’s not “bad” per say, but why pay such a huge price tag ($70 or something outrageous like that) for a product that accomplishes …Read more

I originally just picked this up to tide me over until I was able to repurchase my usual contour product (Sleek Contour Kit), but this ended up leaving me pleasantly surprised. I've been using it everyday since!

I am NC42 (tan/bronze complexion) and 'Coffee Caramel' works perfectly on me. I often find that contour/highlight duos only end up being useful for one of its …

You know, I think this is about the best beauty purchase I've made in a very long time (and the most cost-effective :P). I had seen many beauty bloggers raving about Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay for years, but I was finally done in when I came across it on an article about skin products everyone in their late twenties "needs" (not that this is by ANY means only for people in …Read more

Now that I've reached my mid-twenties, I've been making more of a conscious effort to take proper care of my skin- which includes incorporating a good eye cream into my routine. I bought this based on the favorable reviews on here, and I am not disappointed.

No, there are no miracle anti-aging benefits or ingredients that I am aware of, but it is an extremely hydrating …

Loose Powders - MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Loose Powder Microfinishing Powder

I'm on the fence about this. It has some great qualities, but some not so great qualities as well.

PROS
-Since this powder is 100% silica, it does not look like it's "sitting" on the face (AS LONG AS YOU BLEND IT PROPERLY AND APPLY SPARINGLY), nor does it exaggerate fine lines, pores etc. It is super soft and leaves a velvety finish.
- Even though it has …
