I selected a sample of the brown colors from sephora and was very eager to try this item everyone raved about. On a general note, this was nothing special. Ive seen all over reddit/imgur that the pot tends to dry out, really it should be packaged smaller at a cheaper price as you end up throwing away product, or having to manipulate it to return it to its original form. That's not really …Read more

This compact has 4 color options to choose from: Wheat (appears reddish-blonde), Charcoaled (cool grey), Soft Brown (warm taupe), and Shaping Taupe (misleading name, as it is more of a rusted sienna brown). I have only purchased Charcoaled for use.
This is easily one of my favorite brown products. I have been buying it since it was only $14.50 a pan - now it has increased steadily up to …

I do not see the appeal of this. Clinique has a host of excellent moisturizers, but this is not one of them.. This seems like a barely moisturizing primer balm (that is heavy on the silicones) marketed to a young audience in a Totally Not Your Mom's Boring Makeup Color Range!! I'm sure it works for some people that maybe need to control oil and require less hydration, but even at then …Read more

Powder - CLINIQUE - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15

This is my favorite powder foundation. It is not heavy, melts into skin nicely, and remarkably not drying (I would suspect the sodium hyaluronate is at play here). It layers on itself nicely if you need more coverage, works well with or without a primer, and holds up well in an office environment without frequent (sometimes any) touch-ups necessary. I wish it came in a better range of colors …Read more

Highlighters - BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter - Opal

This was very pretty. Although I'm not reviewing it for that, had it been in a denser format, it would have made a lovely eye shadow. As its intended purpose of a highlighter, it was meh. I wasn't wowed; it was subtle, not over the top; but it didn't seem to really add anything more than a shimmery blush would have. It is marketed as a skin perfector, so perhaps it would …Read more

Misc Beauty Tools - COVERGIRL - Clean Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips

This is an oily, white liquid that is somehow greasier than mineral oil yet less effective at removing makeup. Leaves a very unpleasant residue. Spare yourself the trouble and just buy a travel bottle of Johnson & Johnson's baby oil: it's cheaper, more effective to its purpose, and has an efficient stopper on the underside of the lid so you can control how much dispenses.

This product is a little expensive and I've definitely passed when I was on a tighter budget, but I love its indulgent feeling. It feels so rich and hydrating. It's a nice bit of luxury to be able to put on and wake up to nicer skin in the morning. It feels hydrating and seems to offer my skin a glow in the morning that I find missing when I do not use it.

Lip Treatments - CLINIQUE - Pep-Start Pout Restoring Night Mask

This is another petroleum based lip balm/treatment. I've found it seems really simple, and I wonder how it actually does seem to work better than chapstick, but it really does seem to. After applying it seems to heat up and melt a little into your lips but it forms a lovely barrier that allows my lips to recover so nicely from the ugliest, most chapped/cracked/bleeding, raw state that …Read more

I am happy that I found a sample in a GWP offered through some retailer (I've bought so many over the years..). I was very interested in trying this product but the price made me hesitate. It works about as well as some micellar waters available in the drug store. I like that it does not feel oily, and it does not burn or irritate my eyes, but honestly the almay makeup remover pads do …Read more
