I had high hopes for this one--natural, great fine brush for that "natural" look--but two hours after I lined my eyes with it, most of it had simply disappeared. The resulting look was uneven and, frankly, strange. I want to use and support natural makeup lines, but I don't want to look like my lashles have the mange.
This is the perfect, neutral palette for everyday wear. It contains four separate eye and cheek shades, each of which is divided into a lighter and darker tone. They all have a bit of shimmer, but it's definitely not over the top. The package itself is a stunner: encased in a rose satin pouch, the palette casing is a deep steel color with just a hint of pink. Inside, there are no brushes for …Read more
Darn. I might have to splurge and buy this product after my deluxe free samples are gone. I have been using this firming treatment for about a week now--just once a day, at night, over my Vital Essence with arbutin--and over the past two days two different friends (both men) have randomly blurted out that I have great skin. Since men notice NOTHING unless it's completely obvious, I am …Read more
Blush - MyChelle - Blush Stick
My favorite MyChelle makeup item, and at the top of the list more generally as far as blushes go. Lovely scent, and the tints are sheer and blend very easily. These also don't irritate my sensitive skin in any way. Last summer, I used up "peach" (a great peachy-rose color that didn't turn to mud on my yellow-toned skin) in about two months, then bought "rose" (too …Read more
I have several of these Little Kisses: flirt, mocha, beaujolais, and suede. They are a bit dry (although not too drying over lip balm), but the colors are nice. They don't last too long on my lips, but I can deal with reapplying. What I truly don't like about these is their packaging: after a short while, their labels fade and peel off so much that I can't read which color is …Read more
I liked it just fine for a bit, although I didn't notice much of a plumping effect. Then, after about two months of me using it once a day before bed, it broke me out around my mouth at just about the same time I noticed a rancid smell coming out of the tube. Now, I use Chantecaille Lip Chics for plumping, moisturizing, and color all at once.
This serum (I don't use the intensifier) is only OK. I use it to spot-treat my naso-labial lines (my "howdy-doodys"), and I have not seen much of a difference in that area since I started using this product a few weeks ago. Actually, I don't know if I see any difference, or if I just desperately want to believe that I can, indeed, slow the inexorable pull of gravity. It's …Read more
I am reluctant to rave about this eye cream, since it is so expensive and uses nanotechnology to deliver gold to your skin cells (which may or may not be dangerous--it can potentially change your DNA and all that). Nevertheless, now that I am in my late thirties I am willing to live on the edge a bit more to keep my face youthful and line-free. That said, I have been using this cream for a few …Read more
This was my first Chantecaille purchase. I bought it because I had terrible hyper-pigmentation on my face, the result of sunning myself constantly throughout my thirty-plus years--a condition that was exacerbated by my first pregnancy. Using this serum twice a day, I noticed a difference in the smoothness and brightness of my complexion within the first few days. Over the past few months, my face …Read more
