Sunscreen - Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++

This is the best mineral sunscreen I have ever used, and I've used most of the good ones and a few of the bad ones.

Yes, this is extortionately expensive. However, in my experience with this product it does what it purports to do. It is lightweight, semi-matte, dries totally clear (the tint is a bright peach that looks a bit much out of the tube but disappears to clear on my skin …

Lip Treatments - La Roche-Posay - Cicaplast Levres - Barrier Repairing Balm / Baume Barriere Reparateur

This is an incredible lip balm. Fragrance free, flavouring free, soothing and tenacious. This has done a great job keeping my lips smooth and hydrated, even during a time when I was flying long haul. I was concerned about my lips drying out and cracking, which has happened to me before, but this product did a wonderful job keeping moisture sealed in. On a 14 hour flight I only had to reapply it …Read more

Moisturizers - Paula's Choice - DEFENSE Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30

Having tried all of the DEFENSE products, and enjoying all of them, this demonstrates Paula's Choice really improving the aesthetics of their SPF products, but there is a catch.

I have been a longtime user of their RESIST Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30. Insofar as zinc oxide based sunscreens go, that one is very hard to top. No line, be it Skinceuticals, EltaMD, or …

Moisturizers - Paula's Choice - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer

This moisturizer has a very nice texture. It's thicker than a lotion, lighter than a cream, and more lush than a gel. What I like best, however, is that it absorbs completely and does not leave me looking greasy or feeling like I've got a coating on my skin.

That is the drawback of this product as well: if you have dry skin this will not be enough. But if you have normal …

Treatments (Face) - Paula's Choice - DEFENSE Antioxidant Pore Purifier

This serum is a refreshing change from the silicone based Paula's Choice antioxidant serums. I'm not against silicone per se, but this feels so much lighter and absorbs completely.

It's similar in texture to the PC Calm Repairing Serum, but has a longer ingredient list of antioxidant ingredients and absorbs a bit better with more slip to the product itself. I do find …

Cleansers - Paula's Choice - DEFENSE Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser

Oct/07/2018

I have dry/combination skin with rosacea. I wear various tenacious mineral based sunscreens (Paula's Choice Super Light SPF 30, SkinMedica SPF 34, Elta MD UV Daily SPF 40) which require a thorough cleanser to remove. This cleanser starts off as a thick gel and then, once water is mixed in, turns into a creamy low foam lather.

It demolished my sunscreen and left my face feeling …

Cleansers - CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Normal to Oily Skin

This cleanser is probably quite appropriate for those with genuinely oily skin. However, for my dry/combination skin with rosacea I found it to be stripping and harsh, but certainly better than Cetaphil and the Clinique Liquid Facial Soaps.

It also has the potential to irritate the eyes, which I have not experienced with the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. That formula is just so much …

Moisturizers - Deciem - The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

I noticed no difference at all with this product and it smelled revolting. Like rotten fish. I was shocked because it's easily the worst of the products I've tried from The Ordinary. My skin doesn't seem to agree with oils, regardless of the brand, but this one in particular was not a good experience.

I've always been surprised at how many people like this sunscreen. It has been in the PC lineup for many years and certainly has a following (it's also repackaged in the PC CALM sub-brand).

I've bought it several times over the years and every time I'm reminded why I am neutral on repurchasing it.

First, the good: The sunscreen works: I've never …

I was surprised at how much I like this product. I use SkinMedica HA5 (a truly superb hyaluronic acid product) in the morning under sunscreen, but wanted to find something I could mix into serums to give my skin a moisture boost at night. This is it.

Firstly, it is a clear, fragrance free, watery gel that mixes effortlessly into other skincare products and it does not cause pilling of …
