Eye Shadow - Annabelle - Single eyeshadow- Matte

I love these shadows, they have good pigmentation and blend well. They are reasonable in price (especially at Walmart, they cost quite a bit more money at Shoppers Drug Mart). The shade "Sand" is a lovely soft cool brown, a perfect match for my eyebrows as a great crease/outer eye colour.

If depotted, they *just* fit in a NYX palette as they are slightly bigger than the NYX …

Foundations - wet n wild - Photo Focus Foundation

I wanted to try this foundation because I'd heard about it and Wet n Wild products have improved tremendously over the years. Overall, I like this foundation but I don't love it.

I'm a NW 15-20 in MAC and I found many fair foundations for me are warm (too yellow toned and me make look ill.). I bought Shell Ivory which is labelled as "Pale Neutral Toned" (the …

Primer/ Corrector - NYX Professional Makeup - Color Correcting Concealer Palette

I found this palette extremely useful as I have a number of uneven skin pigmentation concerns that it addresses (dark undereye circles, redness and age spots/sun damage) that have worsened as I've gotten older. I use it because without a colour corrector, foundation (even full coverage) and concealer by itself does not hide them completely.

I apply it after primer (before …

Blush - MILANI - Powder Blush - Tea Rose

I had high hopes for this blush. I love the packaging with the rose and the fact it is matte. I thought it would suit my fair cool toned skin. (I'm a NW 15-20). Unfortunately, the colour payoff is very poor . I tried different brushes but could barely see any colour on my skin. (This is the reason for the low rating.) I have a baked Milani blush - Luminoso and the payoff is much better. As …Read more

Lipstick - L'Oreal Paris - Colour Riche Shine Lipstick - Varnished Rosewood

I've not been happy with the current trends in lip products. At age 62, I have no desire to look like Kylie Jenner. I can't stand the look or feel of matte products. Metallic lips are out for me as well. As well, I'm quite fair (NW 15) with small, pale lips. For me, I find bright colours don't suit me (I find they are aging) and highly pigmented products don't look as …Read more

Cleansers - Garnier - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof

I was highly skeptical of this product when I first saw it - water?!

However, I've been using it regularly and I've found it simple and effective for removing makeup easily especially when I'm tired and just want to go to bed. Although I'm older (62), I don't like a lot of fussy skincare products.

I have sensitive combination skin that is quite …

Masks - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Yogurt Mask

May/07/2018

I have fair, sensitive, combination skin and I'm older (62 currently) with uneven pigmentation and a bit of ezcema on my neck. I tend to be careful with facial cleansers and exfoilators because of the reactivity of my skin.

I've been using plain yogurt masks for a while (usually adding some ground oatmeal for its soothing qualities for my redness/ezcema). Not only does it …

Lip Liners - RIMMEL - Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner - Eastend Snob

I love this lip liner. At my age (62) I find I need a lip liner for definition and to prevent feathering. I'm quite fair (NW 15) with small, pale lips and I want a liner (and lipstick) that looks fairly natural. This colour is a shade darker than my natural lip colour and perfect. It applies easily, wears well and is a good price. Recommended.

I'm older (62) and I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 grey with medium brown hair .(I had red hair as a young child) . Previously I was using commercial hair dye to cover up the grey but I didn't like the way it dried out and damaged my hair. My Indian son-in-law suggested henna. I've been using henna for about 4 years now and I love the results, it makes my hair soft and shiny, covers the …Read more
