There has been a lot written on this product. Beautypedia says the ingredients are not worth the price, are irritating, etc. But the truth is that chemistry is one thing, biology another. Meaning that certain ingredients are known irritants; however, it doesn't mean that everyone will experience this. If everyone reacted the same, beauty companies would have the same products! Broccoli is …Read more

Foundations - La Mer - The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20

I bought this foundation because the shade was the best I ever had in any foundation I've tried yet. And I've tried tons. I'm 57 and I have the usual wrinkles, but I also have redness on my cheeks and around my nose. This foundation does pretty well in covering most of the redness, although not 100%. I don't mind though, as I don't really like full coverage foundation …Read more

I hesitated buying this for about a year. I tried it at the counter a few times and thought it made my face shiny and had very little coverage, so what was the point. Well, I finally bought it and am glad I did. Someone said they hate the smell, but I love it. It's got an essential oil smell, maybe with lavender?, so I like that. I know there's a lot written about not using anything …Read more

I tried this and saw a difference in a night. I've never had that with a product before. I am 57, normal skin but sensitive - can get red easily on my cheeks. I bought one out of curiosity and was really surprised that it worked so quickly. I'm always buying new skincare products to try and keep my skin in the best condition. Doesn't stop aging, but I don't think anything …Read more

I love this stuff. I am older (56) and have broken capillaries around my nose and reddish cheeks. I've tried tons of colour correctors (green stuff) and it always made the area very white. Cicapair (only use a little even though it says use a 'generous' amount) on these red areas makes it more neutral and not white. Also, there are protectors in the ingredients to prevent …Read more

I have to say, despite the price and packaging (not that much in there!), this is my favourite foundation. It might be because the colour matches my skin perfectly. But also, I find it just glides on and sinks in better than any other I've tried. I do tend to like more high-end foundation because I think the quality is better. (I have tried drug store brands but they are always drying to …Read more

Bronzers - CHANEL - Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base

This is a nice bronzer. Some have commented that it makes one appear orange. I think if you have a slight yellow or orange undertone to your skin, like I do, it works. But if you have any pink or red in your skin, it probably will contrast too much. Maybe.

First I use a slightly tinted BB cream which acts like a primer and moisturiser and then I put the bronzer on. It actually looks …

This is the first 'drugstore' brand I have ever liked. I gave up on cheaper foundation years ago and started buying more expensive brands, which I liked better. My favourite one is Sisley, which is ridiculously expensive but works for me. I also love Bare Minerals.

I was in Boots and decided to try this cushion foundation as the colour was perfect. I've been using …

I have sensitive ruddy-coloured skin (due to broken capillaries) but I do not like foundation that I can feel or see. Sounds silly really, as I should probably opt for full coverage. But I like a natural look and heavy foundation makes me look older than I am. I have tried every foundation regardless of price. This is the best one for me. I think colour-matching is key for any make-up and …Read more

I think facial oils are a bit of a fad right now. Of course I had to jump in! Seriously, I decided to spend the money based on all the fantastic reviews I read (here and other places). I used it each night at first and well, it did nothing. It made my face slightly red in the morning, so I stopped for a week. Then I started up again and sure enough, red in the morning. Aside from the pink …Read more
