Treatments (Face) - Unlisted Brand - Stratia Rewind

Another product I wanted desperately to love from Stratia. The few days I can use it before it starts breaking me out my skin looks phenomenal - pale, even toned, hydrated -, but then it gives way to deep clogs that take a week or two to clear up even with using tretinoin most nights. Like Liquid Gold I don't think this is a bad product so much as it just doesn't work with my skin. I …Read more

I am conflicted by this product. On the one hand it is wonderful - great ingredients in the right percentages, all while being light and working well with other products in my routine. On the other hand I can't use it for more than a few days without my pores clogging deeply and horribly, and taking weeks to undo the damage. I want to love this so, so badly, but no matter how many times or …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Obagi - Professional-C Peptide Complex

I am so conflicted about this product. On the one hand it's bloody expensive ($113.00 + tax), and the bulk of the ingredients aren't anything special (the first 5 ingredients are: Water, Sweet Almond Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Silica, Stearic Acid). Even the "functional" ingredients are pretty low down on the ingredients list. That said, it does have vitamin E …Read more

Sunscreen - EltaMD - UV Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 50

Ignoring the fact that my skin immediately turned red and irritated from the Octinoxate in this, it was everything I hate about Western sunscreen: heavy, greasy, never sunk in, and the scent made me kinda of gaggy. I had high hopes for this after reading so many glowing reviews, but it absolutely did not work for my dry, sensitive skin. Thank God I got samples before purchasing a full size.

Skincare - Body - Unlisted Brand - Mr. Pumice Purple Pumi Bar

These have ruined me for traditional pumice bars. I picked one up years ago because it was the same thing they used at all the pedicure places in town and haven't looked back since. I've actually got to be careful not to overdo it with these they're so exfoliating, but it just feels so good to get a good scrub, you know? Anyway, follow up with a good moisturizer and some thick …Read more

Basic, boring body cream that's great for dry skin. It contains a goo dmix of natural emollient oils, humectants like glycerin, and occlusives like dimethicone and petrolatum to hold all that moisture in. I apply it to my still wet skin after I shower and use as a hand cream after after washing and it works great. Keeps my dry skin happy even in the middle of winter w/ the artificial heat …Read more

Ferments are truly one of those "your milage may vary" skincare products. So often what works beautifully for one person will have zero effect on another persons skin. That doesn't make the products bad, it's just some skin/skin type respond better to different things. There are a lot of ferment products on the market, but for my skin I've always had the best results from …Read more

Sunscreen - MISSHA - Flash-Up Sun SPF 50+ PA++++

I was a devoted user of Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun for *years*. I loved it so, so much, and recommended it to anyone looking for a good facial sunscreen. And then Missha betrayed me and reformulated it to contain the ONE silicone that almost instantly gives me cystic acne. I cried when I found out, I'm not ashamed to say. I desperately searched the rest of their sunscreen …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Jergens - Wet Skin moisturizer - all types

I had the coconut oil variety of this, and boy did it save my skin last winter. The only reason I haven't repurchased it is because after watching a couple Dr. Dray videos on YouTube where she mentions they're kind of a waste of money and you could just use whatever body lotion or cream you have in the same way, I did just that and found I liked it more. That said, it's not a bad …Read more
