Cleansers - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Oil Pulling

I've been using organic unrefined raw coconut oil to oil pull for a month now. I use 1 tablespoon every morning and swish it for 20 minutes, spit it out, rinse my mouth with warm salty water, then brush as normal. If my jaw starts to ache it means I'm doing it too vigorously, I just use my tongue to push the oil around in my mouth and pull it through my teeth most of the …Read more

Deodorants - Dove - Original Deodorant - Stick

The only deodorant I've used in years - gentle on my underarm skin, keeps them looking soft, doesn't sting when applied after epilating, and smells nice. Keeps me dry and BO-free even in scorching nz summers, and doesn't stain my clothes.

Lotions/ Creams - NIVEA - In-Shower Body Moisturiser (Skin Conditioner)

Like other posters have said, I got this because I'm too lazy to use lotion and don't have time to stand around waiting for it to dry. So compared to no lotion, this leaves my skin lovely and soft and plumped up. I follow the directions (dark blue bottle for very dry skin) and use 3 tsp for my legs, arms and torso and my shower isn't slippery afterwards. I ignored the directions …Read more

Sunscreen - Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 85+

I use this as my daily sunscreen and I'm so happy with it. After finding out that my primer with SPF 30 is actually useless (you would need to apply a thick layer everywhere in order for the SPF to be effective) I tried every sunscreen I could find but they all left me greasy or with a sickly white cast. This one dries matte, doesn't feel like sunscreen after the first 5 minutes, and I …Read more

This didn't work for me at all. I have very oily skin and large pores, with some fine lines on my forehead.

This product was nearly the same price as my HG Clinique pore perfector. It did not minimize my pores, it made my skin look greasy after an hour, and did nothing to blur fine lines. I ended up washing it off and starting again. I used it for 2 weeks, and each time it was a …

Primer/ Corrector - Garnier - 5 sec Perfect Blur

I'm still not sure about this product - it did a good job of keeping me matte and minimizing the appearance of the huge pores on my nose and cheeks, but it is so so slick! I am used to dealing with the silky feel of Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector, but the Garnier one is like smearing pure silicone over your face.

Pros: Cheap, good packaging, a lot of product …

I ♥♥♥♥ this product! Over the years as my skin has improved, or I have started to treat it better, I have needed less foundation but still needed away to help minimize my pores and reduce shine. I have super oily skin and this mattifies me perfectly - I love everything about it! The texture is silky, it glides on and fills pores well, it keeps me nice and …Read more

Hair Treatments - Neutrogena - T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo - Original Formula

Dec/26/2014

I have been using Herbal Essences (pink shampoo) a lot lately because I love the smell, but it has really dried my hair and scalp out. I ended up with a seriously itchy scalp, lots of flyaways, and flakes :(

I kept forgetting to buy Head & Shoulders, which has been my go to for dandruff and itching in the past, and I found some T/Gel shampoo in a drawer so I decided to give it a …

Lip Treatments - Blistex - Lip Conditioner SPF 20

I love this so much! I've been using it for around 5 years I think, and I swear by it for keeping my lips smooth and soft. It was a bit hard to find in NZ last year (everywhere I went there was chapstick and Baby Lips and fancy new Blistex variations) and my lips were getting so dry and cracked. I finally found this original blistex again, and within 2 days the hard, dry patches on my lips …Read more
