Very well formulated sunscreen for those serious about anti-aging. As a previous reviewer has noted it contains very high amounts of two of the most effective SPF's we have: Tinosorb S and Tinosorb M. Tinosorb M is more powerful than zinc oxide but does not leave the residual white cast and is more elegant for day-to-day wear. On first application it does feel slightly sticky/tacky but rubs …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Deciem - The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid Serum

The line may be called Ordinary Skincare but the brand and its products are anything but. Simply put Ordinary Skincare are revolutionizing the industry and the prices are incredible. This serum is one of my favourites of theirs. It goes on very smoothly and actually produces a bit of heat when it absorbs but nothing uncomfortable. I'm not so sure about the dropper bottle packaging as it lets …Read more

Sunscreen - Elizabeth Arden - City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Hydrating Shield

This is an ok sunscreen. Its physical (titanium dioxide and zinc combo) but unfortunately there are no percentages of these actives (not great at all). Antioxidant blend of idebenone, green tea and ferulic acid which is a nice combo but it would be nice if they were higher up on the ingredient list.

The cosmetic finish is quite nice but a little problematic around the eye area. The …

Tinted Moisturizer - Andalou Naturals - 1000 Roses Color + Correct Sheer Nude CC Cream with SPF 30

Quite a nice tinted sunscreen. What I like about this product is the high percentage of zinc oxide (20%) which is great sun protection. This cream is quite thick but blends into skin quite nicely. The oils make it quite creamy and easy to blend (plus points for adding in jojoba, rosehip and pomegranate oils). It does have a universal tint and the finish is quite good considering the very high …Read more

Wonderful everyday sunscreen. I was searching for an everyday spf that was no hassle, not too greasy/shiney, no white cast BUT with the right sunscreen ingredients and I finally found it. This contains the classic LRP spf combo of mexoryl sx/ xl, stabilized avobenzone with octocrylene and tinosorb S so it provides wonderful anti-aging protection from UVA rays. It leaves no white cast and whilst …Read more

Fabulous sunscreen. No white cast, not greasy, easy application and dries down to a lovely matte glow! As the name entails, it is a purely physical sunscreen with 6% Titanium Dioxide and 5% Zinc. I don't rely on physical sunscreens solely for my protection but this just a personal choice. I layer this over my mexoryl or tinosorb sunscreen for extra protection as a physical over a chemical …Read more

Sunscreen - Avene - Derma-Pediatrics SPF 50+ Lotion For Children

This is a review for the children's version of Avene's spf 50. I usually use the regular Avene spf 50 but could only find this in the pharmacy so it had to suffice. It contains tinosorb s and m, with avobenzone but interestingly no octocrylene. The tinosorbs should stabilize the avo though. I have read that the tinosorb filters are perhaps the best we have in protecting our skin from …Read more

Like you reading this now, I had heard about the 'amazing' effects of coffeberry extract to counteract the aging process- even dermatologists are recommending it and I remember reading, off the top of my head, a derm quoted as saying 'it's the only thing that works'. It has been shown to pack quite a punch in terms of battling oxidative stress in our skin cells which, of …Read more

This isnot a bad sunscreen. I love the sunscreen actives: Tinosorb S and M with stabilized AVobenzone and Octocrylene. So its broad spectrum covering the gamut of UV exposure. I've even read that Tinosorb M is superior to zinc oxide as its part-chemical/part-physical action covers the higher end of UVA rays. However, I'm not completely sold on this sunscreen. Firstly, the alcohol denat …Read more

Moisturizers - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Squalane Oil (Olive Derived)

5.0

Absolute Holy Grial of oils- I've experimented with quite a few and my main 3 are: squalane (first and foremost), macadamia nut oil and jojoba oil (not actually an oil but a wax ester which traps moisture in). I love rosehip, argan and avocado, but squalane really is the best for hydrating and plumping the skin due mainly to the fact that it is the closest oil to our skin's natural oil …Read more
