Cleansers - Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Bar

I wouldn’t call this soap exactly gentle. It definitely leaves your skin feeling stripped and a bit too squeaky-clean, so it’s a no-go for those with dry skin. In addition, it contains fragrance, which isn’t the best for sensitive skin. In the positives column, you do get an unusually big bar for pretty cheap, and it definitely has no problem removing anything that’s on your face (makeup …Read more

Moisturizers - Pond's - Dry Skin Cream

This would be my favorite moisturizer on the planet if I didn’t break out from it. The texture feels so beautifully rich and emollient on my desert-dry, flaky skin. It’s also quite cheap, and a tub lasts for awhile. Unfortunately, it’s a case of my dry skin loving this product, but my acne hating it. I break out pretty bad every time I try it, and I’ve given it multiple chances. If you’re not …Read more

Shampoo - Aussie - Miracle Moist Shampoo

I thought every shampoo was the same as every other shampoo, but this one makes me think differently. Usually my fine, straight hair looks stringy and lackluster, but this shampoo leaves it looking soft and shiny, but not weighed down. My husband loves it too, and he has the opposite hair type as me- very coarse and thick. We’ve gone through many bottles of this stuff.

Sunscreen - Equate - Baby Sunscreen SPF 50

Since I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin, I usually tend to stick with mineral (physical) sunscreens. However, as users of mineral sunscreens are aware, they can be very drying and often leave a lovely white cast behind. So since this chemical sunscreen was under $4, I decided to give it a chance.

First off, this sunscreen feels really nice and moisturizing on my dry skin. When …

Hair Color - REVLON - Colorsilk- Light Ash Brown

I was looking to return to my natural hair color, and this product did it for me. After I had stripped out the black and teal dye I had in my hair, I was left with some...interesting tones to say the least. Parts of my hair were very warm-toned and red, and others were still a bit green (from the teal dye.) This product blended all the odd bits together to form a color very similar to my natural …Read more

Blush - COVERGIRL - Cheekers Blush - Flushed

I saw this new shade of Cheekers blush at Walmart, and it looked like a perfect, neutral pink color, so I snapped it up. It’s definitely a shade I can see working on a wide variety of skin tones. It’s sort of a light pink color that is neither overtly cool-toned or warm-toned, though it leans just slightly more warm than cool. Regardless, it looks great on my cool-toned, pale skin, and it adds …Read more

Toners - L'Oreal Paris - HYDRAFRESH Toner

First off, this toner isn’t actually alcohol-free; on the back of the product it says it’s 99% alcohol free. 1% alcohol isn’t very much, but it’s still a bit of a misleading claim by L’Oreal.
All deceptions aside, I love this toner. I have very, very sensitive skin, and this toner does not cause any stinging or redness. Despite the small inclusion of alcohol, it doesn’t leave my skin dry at …

Cleansers - Cetaphil - Gentle Foaming Cleanser

I am confused by this cleanser. The name says gentle, the ingredients look gentle, but the burning redness it immediately caused on my face was anything but gentle. I’m still not sure why I had this reaction, but people with sensitive skin might want to proceed with caution.
